WBGS DEPUTY GOVERNOR BRIEFS PRESIDENT KIIR ON THE SITUATION IN THE STATE.

19 July 2023 (Juba)- President Kiir was briefed by the Deputy Governor of Western Bhar El Ghazal State, Zakaria Joseph Garang on the general situation in the state.

Garang described the general situation in the State as stable and that they are on daily basis receiving the returnees fleeing the war in Sudan.

He added that the government is allocating land for the returnees and integrating them into the community.

FIVE AMBASSADORS PRESENT LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO PRESIDENT KIIR.

19 July 2023 (JUBA)- President Kiir on Wednesday received letters of credence from 5 newly-appointed non-resident Ambassadors to South Sudan.

The new Ambassadors are as follows;
1. Amb. Jandyr Ferreira Dos Santos from Brazil, with residence in Addis Ababa

2. Amb. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Alsada from Qatar, with residence in Qatar

3. Dr. Fahad Mashari Althafiri from State of Kuwait, with residence in Kuwait

4. Amb. Aboubaker Hassane Dan Sokoto from Niger, with residence in Ndjamena

5. Amb. Julia Niblett from Australia, with residence in Addis Ababa

President Kiir welcomed the envoys and encouraged them to woe entrepreneurs in their home countries to come and invest in various sectors in South Sudan.

Acting Foreign Minister Deng Dau Deng emphasized that South Sudan is open to constructive partnerships with all countries without any exception.

He said the accreditation of the 5 new non-resident Ambassadors clearly shows the expansion of South Sudan's bilateral relations globally.

The diplomats expressed their readiness to engage with the government in matters of diplomacy, trade and economic ties, infrastructure development, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and people-to-people contacts.

Aweil- H.E, Tong Akeen Ngor Governor and the SPLM Chairperson of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State joined the mourners in Panthou of Aweil South County for funeral prayer Services of Late,Cde, Malong Agiu Mayom Aguer.

The Governor conveyed his deepest heartfelt condolences to bereaved family, friends, colleagues, people of Aweil South County, and people of NBG at this critical moment.

The Governor stated Cde Malong Agiu is a strong, energetic, and committed young man who served the SPLM party wholeheartedly.
Moreover, the governor at his personal capacity, promised to construct 3 bed rooms House for Children of Late, Malong Agiu, and assured his support to sponsor the childrenof the Late in schools with immediate effects.

On other notes, H.E., Governor Tong directed the County's commissioners to stop cattle thefts that have emerged in the State unexpectedly.
"We must stop the issue of cattle thefts activities in our communities. Those who are involved should face serious capital punishment" Governor stated.

Lastly, the Governor commenced and congratulated the students on recent CSCE 2022/2023 results where the Northern Bahr El Ghazal State rank in number 3 in the performance. Besides, he urged the communities to take children to schools, specifically the girl child.

PRESIDENT KIIR RECEIVES INVITATION FROM COMOROS PRESIDENT TO ATTEND COORDINATION MEETING IN NAIROBI.

Juba, 12 July 2023- President Kiir has received a written message from his Comorian counterpart Azali Assoumani, to participate in the 5th Mid-Year Coordination meeting between the African Union, the Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms due to take place in Nairobi this week.

The letter was delivered to President Kiir on Wednesday by the Comorian Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy Souef Kamalidini.

The meeting will be convened under the AU theme of the year 2023 “Acceleration of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation”.
