Today 27th March 2026, Juba, South Sudan, hosting a pivotal Country Dialogue Meeting. This collaborative effort, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health (MoH), the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), and the South Sudan AIDS Commission (SSAC), aimed to critically review recent assessments of the nation's Tuberculosis (TB), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Malaria programmes.
The meeting served as a crucial platform for stakeholders to discuss key insights, align on strategic priorities, and foster local ownership.
A primary objective was the validation of updated National Strategic Plans (NSPs) for these health initiatives, which are essential for guiding future programme implementation and securing vital funding, particularly for the upcoming Global Fund Grant Cycle
The Meeting Context and ObjectivesThe Country Dialogue Meeting was convened to address the ongoing challenges and progress within South Sudan's public health sector concerning three major diseases: TB, HIV, and Malaria. The specific objectives of the meeting included:β’Review and Discussion: To examine and deliberate upon the findings from recent assessments of the TB, HIV, and Malaria programmes.
Stakeholder Alignment: To ensure that all involved parties, including governmental bodies, international partners, and civil society organizations, are in agreement regarding the identified priorities and future directions.
Local Ownership: To strengthen national capacity and commitment in managing and sustaining health interventions.
Strategic Document Validation: To formally approve the revised National Strategic Plans, ensuring they reflect current needs and best practices

Hon,Undersecretary Dr Kennedy Gaaniko Baime, Ministry of Health Republic of South Sudan Received 8 laptops donations from World Food Programme to boost Nutrition Data Management in States .
Hon, Undersecretary Dr Kennedy Gaaniko Baime, welcomes the delegation of WFP and reaffirmed Ministry of Health - Republic of South Sudan commitment and collaboration with partners in data Management .
The laptops are going to be distributed to two states, Lake state and NBS
Among the 8 laptops 4 will be delivered to two States namely lake State and NBS.
World Food Programme Head of delegations Martin says that WFP will continue to support the Ministry of Nutrition department in such areas of Data Management.
he also added that World Food Programme has been supporting the Nutrition department through the ministry of Health and State County Health facilities.
In the attendance were the DG for Primary Health care and Director for Nutrition department in the Ministry of Health Republic of South Sudan.

Honourable, Minister of Health Sarah Cleto Rial concludes her successfully visit to Warrap State, assessing Health facilities and meeting State officials to tackle challenges .
Accompanied by High level delegations including Hon, Undersecretary Dr Kennedy Gaaniko Baime and World Health Organization Country Representative, seen off by Governor of Warrap State Amb. Bol Wek Agoth at Kuajok Airport yesterday.

JUBA | 10 March 2026 β The Vice President and Chair of the Services Cluster, His Excellency Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, conducted a historic working visit to the Ministry of Health as part of his oversight responsibilities over the Ministries of Health, Education, and Agriculture.
This visit, the first of its kind, highlights the government's commitment to strengthening the health sector and ensuring effective service delivery to all South Sudanese.
During his remarks, the Vice President reaffirmed his personal dedication to the health sector, emphasising that healthcare delivery remains central to national development.
He commended the Minister for Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, Minister of Health - Republic of South Sudan, for her dedication and leadership, and assured her of his continued support to promote progress in the sector.
He also praised the Minister's unannounced visits to health facilities, noting that such initiatives would help boost productivity and guarantee quality healthcare nationwide.
In her response, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial outlined key priorities for health sector reform and health service delivery, including:
Strategic Governance and Planning (The "Enabler")
These priorities are essential for creating the fiscal and structural environment needed for effective service delivery:
finalising and validating the National Health Strategy, implementing the "Accountability Bridge" (PFM-Supply Chain Integration), and institutionalising joint MOH-MOF budget reviews.
The Vice President's visit marks a new era of accountability, investment, and innovation in South Sudan's health sector.
