ging point in the history of this small town, in 1928 when one of its people brought the pistachio plant from Aleppo city and has planted in Morek town; and this was a great adventure at that time for peasants who depended on seasonal crops (wheat) , as the pistachio trees that need to be about 15 years to enter the production stage missionary, and about 20 years to enter the production stage full economic , it was necessary to plan on stages and with small areas. In 1955 almost /800/ hectares were planted with this tree ; however, with low production because peasants didn't have at that time the required experience to deal with. At the same time, the town peasants had the required experience, and therefore the production increased and this encouraged to plant large areas with the pistachio trees. Since 1985, this town was distinguished in the production of pistachios in large quantities, so is now producing more than one third of local production; noting that its area reaches almost 6800 hectares while the utilized one is almost 6500 hectares planted with the pistachio trees.
