SWAYOCO ON CHINA–AFRICA YOUTH SOLIDARITY EXCHANGE

The Swaziland Youth Congress (SWAYOCO), the Youth League of PUDEMO, proudly announces that our Secretary General Cde Mthobisi Mfundo Ntshangase is currently representing the revolutionary youth of our country among 24 Young Leaders from 17 English speaking African nations at a high level China Africa People to People Exchange, hosted by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC).

This historic gathering brings together young leaders from Rwanda, Nigeria, Zambia, Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe united in the spirit of African solidarity and global cooperation.

On Tuesday, 23rd June 2026, the delegation witnessed the extraordinary technological and economic transformation of China, touring the Yiwu Global Trade Digital Center, the world’s largest marketplace for small commodities, trading with over 223 countries. The youth also visited the Former Residence of Chen Wangdao, the visionary who hand translated the Communist Manifesto into Chinese, igniting ideological consciousness that helped shape modern China.

This 14 day exchange is more than a study tour, it is a political awakening, a moment of learning, and a reminder that people to people solidarity is the backbone of global progress. As young Africans, we are engaging directly with China’s lived realities, development strategies, and its commitment to international cooperation.

As the youth fighting for a democratic, free, and just Swaziland, we reaffirm: SWAYOCO fully supports UN Resolution 2758 of 25 October 1971, which recognizes the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the only legitimate representative of China in the United Nations.

We stand with the global community in acknowledging this historic decision. Furthermore: Once Swaziland is liberated from royal minority rule and governed democratically, the illegitimate relationship with Taiwan will end.A democratic Swaziland will build formal diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, in line with international law, African Union positions, and the One China framework.

This is not merely diplomacy,it is a commitment to international solidarity, economic development, and alignment with the global South.

To every young person resisting oppression, corruption, and royal domination:

This exchange shows what is possible when a nation invests in its people, its youth, and its future. China’s development was not a miracle,it was the result of political will, unity, and a people refusing to be held hostage by a minority elite.

Swaziland deserves the same.

We deserve a country where:

- Education empowers, not suppresses
- Youth lead national development
- International partnerships uplift our people
- Democracy replaces royal dictatorship

The struggle continues, and SWAYOCO remains the spear of the nation, carrying the hopes of a generation determined to reclaim its future.

SWAYOCO STATEMENT POST THE 12-14 JUNE NEC MEETING

17/06/2026

A talented President driven by love and compassion

On Day 2 of the NEC Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa (13th June 2026), during a short break, our President Cde Sakhile Aw'viva Nxumalo reminded us that leadership is not only about speeches and strategies, but also about humanity, unity, and resilience. Once a clinical striker in his high school days, he took time to showcase his football skills, using sport as a tool to bond leaders, fight fatigue, and sharpen minds for the greater struggle ahead.

As SWAYOCO we are proud that the organisation is in safe hands, led by a unifying and brave leader who understands that the revolution requires not only strong voices, but also fresh, focused, and determined spirits.

Cde President Aw'viva concluded with a powerful call: take mental health seriously, seek help in moments of depression, and remember that SWAYOCO is not just a political organisation, it is a family that cares deeply about the welfare of its members.

He urged us to keep our eyes on the bigger fight, the dismantling of the undemocratic Tinkhundla regime.

SWAYOCO stands proud, inspired, and ready. The youth of Swaziland are rising, united under fearless leadership, and determined to build a future of democracy, dignity, and justice.

The struggle continues. Victory is certain✊.

The struggle maybe long, but victory is inevitable ✊

On the 16th of June 1976, the youth of Soweto rose against the Apartheid regime in South Africa, igniting a historic moment of defiance that reverberated across the continent and the world. Their courage in the face of bullets and brutality became a symbol of resistance, reminding oppressed peoples everywhere that liberation is won through sacrifice, unity, and unwavering determination.

The Soweto Uprising was not merely a South African struggle; it was an African and global struggle. It inspired movements in countries facing similar oppression to believe that tyranny can be challenged and defeated. The images of young students standing firm against an unjust system continue to serve as a rallying cry for justice and freedom.

In Swaziland, the legacy of June 16 lives on in the hearts of the youth. The Swaziland Youth Congress (SWAYOCO), the youth wing of PUDEMO , draws strength from the Soweto generation. Just as South African youth confronted Apartheid, SWAYOCO confronts the Tinkhundla regime, which denies democracy and subjects citizens to repression.

The uprising reminds Swazi youth that solidarity is a weapon, and that the struggle for freedom is not fought in isolation. “The Soweto youth showed us that even the most entrenched regimes can be shaken when the people unite,” SWAYOCO declares. Their example inspires the continued fight against injustice, torture, imprisonment, and exile faced by activists under King Mswati’s rule.

Today, as we commemorate June 16, we reaffirm that the spirit of Soweto is alive in every corner of Africa and beyond. It is alive in Swaziland, where the youth continue to resist, organize, and demand a future free from oppression. The Soweto Uprising teaches us that the struggle may be long, but victory is inevitable when the people stand together.

Cde Sakhile Awuviva Nxumalo highlighted the brutality of Mswati’s Government, a regime that has subjected comrades to threats, torture, imprisonment, death, and exile. He reminded the world that the Swazi struggle is not forgotten, and that international solidarity is a weapon against tyranny.

In his powerful conclusion, he urged all delegations to carry the story of the Swazi struggle until King Mswati’s Government is removed from power. His words echoed the spirit of June 16, calling for unity, courage, and relentless resistance.

SWAYOCO salutes our President for his unwavering role in international work, forging alliances and amplifying the cry for freedom across the globe. ✊🏾
