It’s Day 3 and the final day of , and our CREATE Champions are still on the ground connecting with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), corporates and financial institutions to raise awareness about the Catalyser for Renewable Energy Transition in Eswatini (CREATE) programme.
CREATE is a transformative initiative that supports MSMEs to drive inclusive economic development across Eswatini’s key electricity-dependent value chains – agriculture, manufacturing and services – by promoting investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions.
The programme is funded by the European Union in Eswatini through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development and implemented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy Eswatini in partnership with UNDP and Catalyze.

Eswatini, Mozambique and South Africa have launched a six-year, USD7.1 million GEF-funded initiative to strengthen transboundary water management across the Incomati and Maputo river basins – home to over 3.4 million people.
With USD64 million in co-financing from the three countries, the project will enhance water, food, energy and environmental security, while supporting sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience and coordinated basin-wide planning.
Implemented by Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, with UNDP as the GEF implementing agency, the initiative reinforces the role of strong regional collaboration in addressing shared water challenges and unlocking inclusive, sustainable development opportunities.
