From Tuesday onward, we held an intensive workshop focused on reviewing the Grade III cooking trade test standards and assessment instruments, as well as developing the Grade II trade test standards and assessment instruments.
The workshop took place at Emafini Country Lodge and was attended by several esteemed chefs, including Vusie Ngubeni from Happy Valley Hotel, Siyabonga Mashinini from The George Hotel, Lomkhosi Gule from Eswatini Royal Airways Corporation, and others.
The event was highly successful. A major announcement will be made at a later stage, as the report must first be presented to our Trade Testing Advisory Committee (TTAC) and the Hospitality and Tourism Advisory Committee (HTAC).
The Grade II Cooks framework is now complete and ready. Further details—including its name and other specifications—will be shared in due course.

🔍 Employers – Verify Trade Test Certificates Directly with DIVT
If you’re hiring for skilled trades at your construction site or any industrial project, authenticating qualifications is a critical step.
The trade test certificate verification inquiry can be like the one shown in the attached screenshot – a company requesting verification of a candidate’s trade test certificate.
To streamline this process, please direct all verification requests to:
📧 [email protected]
or
📧 [email protected]
DIVT is the issuing authority for these credentials. Sending your requests to either of these official email addresses ensures a fast, accurate response.
Why this matters:
✅ Prevents fraudulent certificates from entering your workforce
✅ Complies with industry safety & compliance standards
✅ Protects qualified candidates and your company’s reputation
Pro tip for HR and site managers:
Always include the applicant’s full name, certificate number (if available), and a clear copy of the certificate in your email.
♻️ Repost to help other employers verify credentials the right way.

📢"LONG QUEUES, MANY THOUGHTS ON YOUR MIND..."
We recognise the pressures that come with long queues and the urgent need for trade testing services. However, we caution all job seekers, artisans, and members of the public not to let frustration or impatience make you vulnerable to exploitation.
⚠️ DO NOT fall for predators offering so-called “trade testing services” at exorbitant fees.
The public is reminded that the only authorised institution in the Kingdom of Eswatini mandated to conduct trade testing is the Directorate of Industrial and Vocational Training (DIVT) , operating under the Industrial and Vocational Training (IVT) Act of 1982, Section 16.
No private entity, individual, or unauthorised agency is permitted to offer or charge for trade testing services. Any such claims are fraudulent and should be reported immediately.
✅ For legitimate trade testing, please visit the DIVT offices or contact the Ministry of Labour and Social Security through official channels.
Let us work together to protect our citizens from financial predators. Kindly share this notice widely.
