Venus, the Goddess of Heat
---------------------------------------------------
Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is sometimes called Earth’s “sister” or “twin” planet as it is almost as large and has a similar composition. As an interior planet to Earth, Venus appears in Earth’s sky never far from the Sun, either as morning star or evening star. We sometimes misrecognize Venus as a star usually in the evening as it is so bright. Venus is one of the terrestrial planets, rocky planet, like Mercury, Earth and Mars. Aside from the Sun and Moon Venus is the brightest natural object in Earth’s sky, capable of casting visible shadows on Earth at dark conditions and being visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.

Earthquakes
---------------------------
What causes earthquakes?
The earth is formed of layers. The surface of the earth, about 100 kilometers thick, is made of large pieces. When they move against each other, an earthquake happens. A large movement occurs a violent earthquakes, but a small movement causes a mild one. Earthquakes last only a few seconds. The rolling movements are called seismic waves. The seismic waves start in one place, called the epicenter, and roll outward. A seismic wave travels around the earth in about twenty minutes. Usually, an earthquake is strong enough to cause damage only near its epicenter.

Formation of Solar System
--------------------------------------------------
The Solar System is the collection of celestial bodies that orbit around our star, the Sun. It consists of eight planets; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, their moons and rings, dwarf planets such as Pluto and Ceres, asteroids and comets. The largest body by far is Jupiter – it has two-and-a-half times more mass than all other objects in the Solar System combined! All these objects are held together by gravity which originated from when a cloud of gas collapsed to form our star billions of years ago. Our planet Earth lies at just the right distance from this powerful source so we can enjoy life here on its surface with liquid water essential for all known forms of life!

Mercury
-------------------------
Mercury is the smallest planet in the Solar System and the closest to the Sun. Its orbit around the Sun takes 87.97 Earth days, the shortest of all the Sun’s planet. It means 1 year on mercury is almost 88 days on earth. Mercury has no moon around it since its gravity is too weak to maintain the moon, also because of the sun’s gravity. The gravity of the sun is so powerful that mercury will never have moon in the furture. Although it is the closest to the sun, it is not the hottest planet. Mercury is the second hottest planet in the Solar System.

COLUMBUS (1451-1506)
-------------------------
Every schoolboy knows that Christopher Columbus discovered America.” And that is often the full meed of acquaintance made with the story of this strange, fearless adventurer, who, with his head stuffed full of travellers’ tales, legends and madcap fancies, sailed with three tiny ships and a crew of ruffians across the unknown wastes of the Atlantic. It is a chequered story of courage and brutality, of mismanagement and misfortune, of faith, determination and magnificent achievement.

Literature
----------
The English word “literature” comes from the Latin word “litteratura,” which means “writing”. Thus, we may assume that there was no literature until people could write. However, we cannot say that every and any piece of writing is literature. For instance, no one would call a “Recipe for Coconut Rice” literature. Neither could one call the “Directions” on a bottle of medicine literature.
To put it simply, for a piece of writing to be recognized as literature, it must have a lasting effect on the reader in such a way that the reader would want to read on and on, and again and again too. A writer of a piece of literature can be compared to a painter. A painter chooses and uses colors carefully to get a beautiful painting. Similarly, a writer of a piece of literature chooses and uses his words carefully to turn out a piece of writing that will make his reader wish to read on and on, and even again and again.
Another important point to note is that every literate nation has literature of its own.
