Viktor Michalík, Deputy Head of Mission, participated in the Asian OSCE Conference on “Addressing Transnational Threats in the Digital Age through Enhanced Co-operation between Asia and the OSCE.”
Organised by Thailand in cooperation with Finland and the OSCE, the conference confirmed the growing interconnection of security challenges between the European and Indo-Pacific regions. It also underscored the importance of addressing these challenges through strengthened multilateral dialogue and cooperation in today’s evolving digital landscape.

[English below] เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐเช็กประจำประเทศไทย ฯพณฯ นายปาเวล ปีเตล พร้อมด้วยทีมสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เข้าเยี่ยมคำนับ พลเอก ศราวุธ จันทร์พุ่ม ผู้บัญชาการหน่วยบัญชาการทหารพัฒนา ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานภายใต้กองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย เมื่อวันที่ 29 เมษายน 2569 ณ หน่วยบัญชาการทหารพัฒนา

การพบหารือในครั้งนี้เป็นโอกาสอันดีในการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับภารกิจของหน่วยฯ พร้อมทั้งแนะนำเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมจากสาธารณรัฐเช็ก ที่สามารถสนับสนุนการปฏิบัติงานของหน่วยให้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น

นอกจากนี้ บริษัท BTL Medical Thailand Ltd. ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านอุปกรณ์การแพทย์และเทคโนโลยีเพื่อสุขภาพจากสาธารณรัฐเช็ก ยังได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเพื่อสังคม (CSR) โดยนำเสนอเทคโนโลยีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพและการดูแลสุขภาพ เพื่อสนับสนุนภารกิจของหน่วยบัญชาการทหารพัฒนาในการดูแลประชาชนในพื้นที่ต่าง ๆ อีกด้วย

H.E. Mr. Pavel Pitel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Thailand, together with the Embassy team, paid a courtesy call on General Saravut Janpum, Commanding General of the Armed Forces Development Command under the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, on 29 April 2026 at the Armed Forces Development Command.

The meeting provided the opportunity to exchange information on the Command’s missions, as well as to introduce Czech technologies and innovations that could further enhance the effectiveness of its operations.

On this occasion, BTL Medical Thailand Ltd., a Czech company specializing in medical equipment and healthcare technologies, also participated in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. The company showcased solutions in rehabilitation and healthcare, supporting the Command’s mission in delivering assistance and improving the well-being of communities across various regions.

🕊️ The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of H.E. Dr. Kobsak Chutikul, former Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic.

H.E. Dr. Kobsak was a distinguished pioneer who played a key role in laying the foundation of relations between Thailand and the Czech Republic in their early years. He carried out his duties with great dedication, commitment, and professionalism. He also served as the first Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic in 1993.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok extends its heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones.

May his soul rest in peace. 🕊️

การพบกันครั้งนี้ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้พูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเพื่อเสริมสร้างและกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยและสาธารณรัฐเช็ก โดยเฉพาะในด้านการศึกษาและการวิจัยด้านความมั่นคง
นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการหารือถึงความร่วมมือในหลากหลายด้าน อาทิ การแลกเปลี่ยนและฝึกงาน การถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีให้กับครู อาจารย์ นายทหารนักเรียน และนักเรียนช่างฝีมือทหาร รวมถึงการพัฒนาระบบจำลองยุทธเพื่อการฝึกอำนวยการรบ และโอกาสในการศึกษาดูงานด้านเทคโนโลยีที่เกี่ยวข้อง
อีกหนึ่งประเด็นสำคัญคือการสนับสนุนผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสาธารณรัฐเช็กให้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในงาน TSD2026 ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความตั้งใจของทั้งสองฝ่ายในการเดินหน้าความร่วมมืออย่างต่อเนื่อง 🤝

The meeting was held in a warm and fruitful atmosphere. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening and further enhancing the longstanding ties between Thailand and the Czech Republic, particularly in the areas of security education and research.
Discussions also covered a range of potential areas for cooperation, including exchange programs and internships, technology transfer for instructors, military cadets, and technical military students, as well as the development of simulation systems for command and staff training. Opportunities for study visits and cooperation in related technologies were discussed.
Another key point of discussion was the support for Czech defence industry experts to participate in TSD2026, reflecting the shared commitment of both sides to advancing practical and forward-looking collaboration 🤝

ระบบการเข้าและออกรูปแบบใหม่ (new Entry/Exit System - EES) ช่วยทำให้พรมแดนภายนอกของประเทศกลุ่มพื้นที่เชงเก้นมีความทันสมัยยิ่งขึ้น เพื่อต้อนรับผู้เดินทางเพื่อการพำนักระยะสั้น (short stays travellers) ที่มีจำนวนเพิ่มมากขึ้นอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

สำหรับบุคคลที่ไม่ได้เป็นพลเมืองของประเทศสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรปที่จะเดินทางไปยัง ประเทศกลุ่มพื้นที่เชงเก้นในยุโรปจำนวน 29 ประเทศเพื่อการพำนักระยะสั้น ระบบนี้จะช่วยให้กระบวนการผ่านแดนรวดเร็ว ปลอดภัย และคล่องตัวยิ่งขึ้น อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้เดินทาง ซึ่งรวมถึงบุคคลที่มีสัญชาติไทย ยังคงจำเป็นที่จะต้องมีวีซ่าเชงเก้นเพื่อเดินทางมายังยุโรป

The new Entry/Exit System (EES) has now been fully operational since 10 April 2026.

The EES modernises the external Schengen borders to efficiently welcome the growing number of short stays travellers.

For non-EU nationals travelling to the 29 Schengen countries for short stays, it provides a faster, more secure, and streamlined border-crossing process. Travellers are still required to have a Schengen visa to travel to Europe, including Thai nationals.

Europe’s new border management system - the Entry/Exit System – replaces passport stamps and digitally records:

· arrival/departure dates
· travel document and biometric data

In line with EU data protection rules.
