On 26th May, the Embassy of Peru in Thailand, in collaboration with PromperÚ ASEAN, the AsociaciÃģn de Exportadores (ADEX), and AJETHAl, officially inaugurated the Peruvian Pavilion at THAIFEX Anuga Asia 2026, the most diverse and spectacular food and beverage trade show in Asia.

This year we have 12 Peruvian companies are participating in the Peruvian Pavilion, and it is a great honor to showcase high-quality products from Peru, including world-renowned superfoods, for all visitors to experience and explore.

On May 22, Ambassador Cecilia Galarreta participated as a panelist in the “International Day for Biodiversity 2026 Forum”, held at NEXTOPIA in commemoration of the International Day for Biological Diversity. ðŸŒŋ

Ambassador highlighted Peru’s commitment to biodiversity conservation, the protection of genetic resources, and the value of its agricultural heritage, superfoods, and sustainable practices. ðŸ‡ĩ🇊

The event brought together representatives of UNDP Thailand, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, the private sector, and sustainability experts.

The Embassy of Peru extends its appreciation to Siam Piwat Group for promoting dialogue on environmental responsibility. 🌏

ðŸ‡ĩ🇊ðŸĪðŸ‡đ🇭 On 20 May, the Embassy of Peru participated in “Latin Night: Viva La Fiesta”, a business networking event organized by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and presided over by Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce.

The event brought together Thai authorities, private sector representatives, and Latin American Ambassadors accredited in Thailand, with the aim of strengthening trade ties between Thailand and Latin America.

During the event, the progress of the Thailand–Peru Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement was highlighted, with its signing expected soon. This important milestone will further deepen trade, investment, and economic cooperation between both countries.

On the occasion of the conclusion of Ambassador Cecilia Galarreta’s tenure, Minister Suphajee expressed warm words of recognition for her work and contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Peru and Thailand.

The Embassy of Peru expresses its appreciation to the Ministry of Commerce for its continued support and reaffirms its commitment to promoting Peru’s economic and commercial presence in this important market.

On 20 May, Ambassador Cecilia Galarreta was received in a farewell audience by Mr. Sophon Saram, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand, on the occasion of the conclusion of her tenure. ðŸ‡ĩ🇊ðŸ‡đ🇭

Both sides highlighted the excellent state of Peru–Thailand relations and recalled key exchanges between the two countries, including high-level visits and parliamentary contacts. They also expressed their shared interest in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation through new parliamentary friendship groups.

Ambassador Galarreta also referred to the process for the early signing of the Peru–Thailand Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, as well as to the strategic importance of the Port of Chancay and its special economic zone as a hub for logistics connectivity and supply chains between South America and ASEAN.

As a gesture of friendship, Ambassador Galarreta presented a hand-embroidered Peruvian table runner to the President of the National Assembly, in recognition of the strong ties between Peru and Thailand. ðŸĪ

ðŸ‡ĩ🇊ðŸĪðŸ‡đ🇭 On 18 May, Ambassador Cecilia Galarreta paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand, on the occasion of the conclusion of her tenure.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the strong friendship and long-standing cooperation between Peru and Thailand, as well as the progress achieved in strengthening bilateral relations in recent years.

Both sides welcomed the progress made in the negotiations of the Thailand–Peru Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to further strengthen trade and investment ties between both countries. Ambassador Galarreta also highlighted the importance of the Port of Chancay as a strategic infrastructure project that can enhance connectivity and trade links between South America and ASEAN, with Thailand as a key gateway to the region.

Ambassador Galarreta also presented the Prime Minister with a framed Shipibo-Konibo textile featuring kenÃĐ designs, an ancestral visual language of the Peruvian Amazon that expresses harmony, cultural memory, and the connection between people and nature.

On 14 May, Ambassador Cecilia Galarreta held a farewell meeting with Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure in Thailand. ðŸ‡ĩ🇊ðŸ‡đ🇭

Ambassador Galarreta expressed her appreciation to the Governor and his team for their valuable support in strengthening the ties between Peru and the city of Bangkok.

Both sides recalled several cultural initiatives carried out, including the Torito de PucarÃĄ project, the participation of the Bangkok Metropolitan Orchestra in a Peru–Thailand cultural event, the commemorative mural painted by Peruvian artist Diego Cornejo, and BMA’s support for the display of three Torito sculptures at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

Ambassador Galarreta also presented Governor Chadchart with a Torito de PucarÃĄ as a symbol of friendship between Peru and Thailand, reaffirming the shared commitment to continue promoting cultural cooperation. ðŸĪ
