On one question ❓ regarding
proposed (FTA) Free Trade Agreement between the two Nations.
Mr.Farrukh Sharif briefed the meeting about major obstacles and it's possible solutions.
Hopefully will be signed within current year.

Many new options to enhance business between Pakistan and Thailand were debated.

On this occasion, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Warsi, President of the Thai-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (TPCC), along with provincial Islamic committees, cabinet members, diplomats, and representatives of Muslim organizations, participated.

Mr.Muhammad Farrukh Shariff ที่ปรึกษาด้านการค้าและการลงทุน สถานเอกอัครราชฑูตสาธารณรัฐอิสลามปากีสถาน ประจำประเทศไทย ได้นำเสนอข้อมูลด้านการค้าและการกิจการในปากีสถาน ซึ่งข้อมูลของปากีสถานนั้น มีประชากรมากเป็นอันดับ 5 ของโลกประมาณ 220 ล้านคนเป็นประเทศมุสลิมที่ใหญ่เป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลกรองจากอินโดนีเซีย ขนาดของประเทศเป็น 2 เท่าของประเทศไทย มีประชาคมกลุ่มคนหนุ่มสาวค่อนข้างมากประมาณ 64% ของประชากรทั้งหมดและมีประชากรแรงงานประมาณ 59.7 ล้านคน โดยในรอบ 50 ปีที่ผ่านมาไทยและปากีสถานมีความมีความใกล้ชิดกันมาก เพราะเป็นตลาดกลางการส่งออกปลาและอาหารทะเล ซึ่งประเทศไทยนั้นก็นำเข้าปลาและอาหารทะเลและน้ำมันจากปากีสถาน ส่วนปากีสถานได้มีการนำเข้าสินค้าเกี่ยวกับรถยนต์เคมีภัณฑ์และยางรวมทั้งอื่นๆจากไทยด้วย

ส่วนสาเหตุที่อยากให้มีการเข้าไปลงทุนที่ประเทศปากีสถาน เนื่องจากว่าประชากรค่อนข้างมีอายุน้อย จำนวนชนชั้นกลางกำลังขยายตัวและเป็นประเทศที่รองรับการค้าเสรี อีกทั้ง ปากีสถานมีข้อตกลงกับประเทศจีนโดยที่จีนกำลังจะลงทุนขนาดใหญ่ในปากีสถานด้วย ปากีสถานยังเป็นประเทศที่สามารถเชื่อม 3 ทวีป 68 ประเทศ และ GDP ก็เป็นสูงเป็นอันดับ 3 ของโลก มีบริษัทข้ามชาติกว่าพันบริษัทที่เข้าไปลงทุน

ในเรื่องการส่งออกอาหารทะเลนั้น เป็นแบบจับมาได้แล้วขายไป มีเรือขนาดเล็กประมาณ 14,000 ลำ และมีเรือขนาดกลางและใหญ่อีกจำนวนหนึ่ง ส่วนธุรกิจที่อยากเชิญชวนนักลงทุนไปทำคือธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับห้องเย็นที่ยังมีไม่มาก และวันนี้ที่เดินทางมาสมุทรสาครก็เพราะอยากมาร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการทำธุรกิจห้องเย็นในสมุทรสาครด้วย และปีที่แล้วก็ยังมีบริษัทเกี่ยวกับอาหารทะเลและห้องเย็นรายใหญ่ในสมุทรสาครเข้าไปลงทุนในปากีสถานซึ่งเป็นการเพาะเลี้ยงปลานิล และจะขยายวงกว้างไปสู่ธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับกุ้ง นอกจากนั้นปากีสถานยังมีการส่งออกเกี่ยวกับผ้าทอ บริษัทยา และบริษัทผลิตอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ในการผ่าตัดด้วย

โดยหลังจากที่ได้มีการนำเสนอข้อมูลด้านต่างๆแล้วนั้น ทางผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ ของสมุทรสาคร ยังได้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนและเสนอความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการลงทุนร่วมกัน ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการร่วมลงทุนทางธุรกิจในอนาคตต่อไป
