The Chamber is also enhancing its networking with the respective governments to promote and develop economic relations in line with its objectives.

On 5 May 2026, the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

H.E. shared valuable insights and recent experiences on the latest geopolitical developments and their impact on Thailand and the global business environment.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of JFCCT, Mrs. Vibeke Lyssand Leirvag, together with members of the JFCCT Committee, briefed on JFCCT’s key focus areas, including:

On 28 April 2026, the Malaysian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC) successfully convened its Annual General Meeting, welcoming over 60 members and distinguished guests. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hwee Khim Boo, Chairperson of MTCC, and attended by members of the Executive Committee, including Mr. C.E. Yap, Deputy Chairperson; Mr. Supasak, Secretary; and Ms. May Low, Treasurer.

The event was honored by the presence of distinguished representatives from the Malaysian Embassy and related agencies, including H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; Mr. B**g Yik Jui, Minister / Deputy Chief of Mission / Permanent Representative to the United Nations ESCAP; Brigadier General Samsul Rizal Musa, Defence Attaché; Dr. Jayagowri Pindaya, Minister Counsellor, MITI Bangkok; Mr. Shaiful Naszri Abdul Wahid, Counsellor; Mr. Faizalkhan Jaafar, Trade Commissioner, MATRADE Bangkok; and Ms. Syarifah Fadhilah Syed Dardin, Assistant Trade Commissioner, MATRADE Bangkok.

The meeting was also attended by the MTCC Honorary Board of Directors and Board of Directors:

During the session, Mr. C.E. Yap presented a comprehensive overview of MTCC’s activities in 2025, highlighting key initiatives such as social events, government engagement visits, collaborations with fellow chambers, and golf tournaments. Ms. May Low also provided an update on the Chamber’s financial position. Members were further presented with the newly published 2026 Member’s Directory Handbook.

As part of this year’s programme, MTCC hosted a special Dinner Talk featuring Dr. Chula Sukmanop from the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Dr. Chula shared valuable insights into the development of the EEC, a key driver of Thailand’s economic growth and investment landscape, offering meaningful perspectives to attendees.

The meeting also included the election of the new Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term. Prior to the group photo session, Dr. Hwee Khim Boo delivered heartfelt remarks, marking her retirement as Chairperson of MTCC.

MTCC extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Khim for her dedicated leadership and invaluable contributions to the Chamber over the years.

The session concluded with a group photo to officially welcome the newly elected Board, followed by a buffet dinner for members and guests.

MTCC Strengthens Digital Education at Wat Krachang School through CSR Program

Ayutthaya, Thailand | 26 March 2026

The Malaysian Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC) conducted a CSR Education Program at Wat Krachang School, Ayutthaya Province, marked by the official handover of 20 new personal computers following the completion of installation in early January. The initiative aims to support digital learning and enhance students’ academic development.

The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Khim Boo, Chairwoman of MTCC, together with MTCC Directors and CSR Committee members Ms. May Low, Ms. Yap Lu Ying,
Mr. Ten Voon Teng and Ms. Rungnapa Chinvigai, as well as Ms. Jintana Kosalodom, Director of Wat Krachang School, teachers, and students. The donated computers will strengthen IT education, improve digital literacy, and support classroom learning across various subjects, including the EDUTEN English/Math education program previously sponsored by MTCC.

As part of the activity, the computers were used to demonstrate an e market channel, enabling students to learn how agricultural products from Wat Krachang School can be promoted and sold through digital platforms. MTCC representatives also visited the school’s Academic Flea Market, where students showcased their academic achievements, vocational skills, and self cultivated agricultural products.

MTCC maintains a long term, education led CSR commitment, with Wat Krachang School adopted as a key CSR partner since 2015. Ongoing initiatives include the annual sponsorship of 160 EDUTEN English and Mathematics licenses and support for digital learning through computer donations.
