PROMPERÚ ASEAN is introducing pilot projects aimed at bringing Peruvian lucuma to Thailand, collaborating with partners from different areas of the dessert and food innovation ecosystem. 🇵🇪🍦🇹🇭

These initiatives explore the potential of showcasing lucuma in a variety of formats, including ice cream, gelato, popsicles, and other creative treats, allowing Thai consumers to discover this unique Peruvian superfruit in new and exciting ways.

Often called the “Gold of the Incas,” lucuma is known for its naturally sweet flavor with notes of caramel and maple, making it an excellent ingredient for desserts. Beyond its distinctive taste, lucuma is also valued for its fiber, antioxidants, and essential nutrients, offering both indulgence and nutritional benefits and low glycemic index offering a rare pairing of guilt free desserts and ice creams!

Through these pilot initiatives, PROMPERÚ ASEAN aims to inspire innovative dessert creations and demonstrate the versatility of Peruvian superfoods in Thailand and across the region.

During our recent engagement, we realized that the organizer had never experienced Peruvian cuisine, so we made sure to introduce a true taste of Peru right here in the heart of Bangkok at Buenazo ✨

It was a great experience to discover the authentic flavors of Peru and to taste our renowned superfood ingredients, showcasing the richness, diversity, and quality that make Peruvian gastronomy so unique worldwide 🌱🍽️

During the meeting, we discussed the potential of incorporating Peruvian superfood ingredients into innovative formats such as sweet products and frozen treats, with a special focus on lucuma powder. PROMPERÚ ASEAN continues to strengthen its trade promotion efforts in Thailand through direct engagement with local importers. Today, we visited Sunshine Market to showcase selected Peruvian products that are likely to be featured at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026.

The discussion highlighted a mutual interest in product categories, including super snacks and protein snacks which open the door to promising future collaborations.
