The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, in collaboration with the Sisaket Rajabhat University, organized a Yoga Workshop as the fourteenth precursor event of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 at the Faculty of Nursing Building, Sisaket Rajabhat University, on 2 June 2026 (Morning).
The yoga session was conducted by Yoga Teacher Mr. Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who demonstrated various yoga asanas and actively engaged around 50 participants from Sisaket, reflecting the true spirit of in the run-up to .
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Asana Cherdchoo, Assistant to President, Sisaket Rajabhat University delivered the opening remarks and highlighted the importance of yoga.
The event was successfully organized with the valuable support of Mr. Kawinwat Hiranburana, Director of Institute of Language, Arts and Culture, Sisaket Rajabhat University. The yoga workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across Sisaket Province and highlighted the significance of yoga in promoting physical well-being, mental clarity, and holistic health.

On May 31, 2026, to mark “Visakha Bucha Day”—an International Day of Recognition—Thai Buddhists across the country visited temples for merit-making and practicing Dhamma in reverence to the Lord Buddha.
On this auspicious occasion, Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador of India to Thailand visited ‘Wat That Thong - The Royal Monastery’ in Bangkok to participate in the celebrations of the full moon of the Visakha month. Welcomed by the monastic and the temple committee, the Ambassador paid respects to the sacred Bodhi tree, which was grown from a sapling brought directly from Bodh Gaya, India.
Subsequently, Ambassador paid homage to Phra Buddha Sapphanyu, the principal Buddha image of the main chapel (Ubosot), and paid respects to Phra Rajworayansophon, the Abbot of Wat That Thong. He then made merit by offering Sanghadana (monastic requisites), joined the Buddhist congregation in chanting Buddhist prayers, and participated in the candlelight procession (Wien Tien). Following this, he ascended to pay homage to the Holy Relics of the Buddha enshrined within ‘Princess Galyani Vadhana Mahachedi’. Furthermore, the Ambassador, accompanied by his spouse, offered sacred lamps for blessings and prosperity before returning to their residence.
The celebration was also attended by Dr. Chaitanya Prakash Yogi, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Bangkok and Mr. Santosh Ram Pratap Singh, Second Secretary of Embassy of India, Bangkok.

The yoga session was conducted by Yoga teacher Mr. Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who demonstrated various yoga asanas and actively engaged around 300 participants from Ubon Ratchathani, reflecting the true spirit of in the run-up to .
On this occasion, Mr. Phusit Noisopakul, Vice Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, delivered the opening remarks, while Mrs. Panarat Khonkhayan, Director of the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Cultural Office, presented the report.

The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, organized a ‘Talk’ on “Five Elements (Pancha Bhoota) and Human Emotions” at SVCC premises on 30 May 2026.
This insightful talk was delivered by Dr. Pisit Mahasawanskul (Om), Director of the Vedic Medical Astrology Center, Thailand, and Senior Faculty Member of the Global Ayurveda Academy, USA. Drawing upon ancient Indian wisdom, the speaker expressively explained the relationship between the five fundamental elements of nature (Pancha Bhoota) and human emotions and highlighted their relevance to holistic well-being and balanced living.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, members of the Indian diaspora in Thailand, and around 90 enthusiastic participants, who appreciated the informative and engaging talk.

Dr. Chaitanya Prakash Yogi, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Bangkok attended the event “International Day of Vesak -2026” on the theme of ‘Illuminating Wisdom and Compassion for Peaceful World’ at Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Wat Pho), Bangkok on 28 May 2026.
The event was organised by Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka and the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Nepal in Bangkok. The programme featured Dhamma talk, Guided meditation and Sound Healing session.
