H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, received a courtesy call from Prof. Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, Group CEO of Sunway Education, and delegation. The discussion focused on the education systems of Malaysia and Thailand, as well as potential areas for further cooperation in the education sector.

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับระบบการศึกษาของมาเลเซียและประเทศไทย ตลอดจนแนวทางและโอกาสความร่วมมือเพิ่มเติมในภาคการศึกษาในอนาคต

In celebration of the strong and longstanding diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Thailand, the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok hosted a special culinary demonstration, “A Taste of Malaysia at Mrs. Balbir’s Cooking School”, on 19 May 2026. H.E. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah and Madam Datin Zuhaila Abd Latif demonstrated three iconic Malaysian dishes representing the nation’s rich cultural heritage, namely Roti Jala (Fishnet Pancake), Kari Ayam (Chicken Curry) and Penang Asam Laksa.

The class was attended by approximately 45 guests, comprising students, Thai stakeholders, Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the media. H.E. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah also presented Certificates of Participation to all students who took part in the workshop.

The event was lively, interactive, and warmly received, as the Ambassador and Madam Datin Zuhaila shared not only the art of Malaysian cooking, but also the warmth, hospitality, and multicultural spirit that define Malaysia.

As the saying goes, “Food is the language of friendship that brings people together beyond borders.” Through the sharing of Malaysia’s rich culinary traditions, the event served as a meaningful platform to further strengthen people-to-people ties and promote greater appreciation of Malaysian culture in Thailand.

Meet and greet session between Mr. B**g Yik Jui, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, and the Malaysian Dodgeball Contingent on 4 May 2026, who were in Bangkok for the Asian Youth Dodgeball Championship 2026.

Congratulations on the outstanding achievements – champions in U19 Women, U19 Men, U13 Mixed and U13 Men, and runners-up in U16 Women and U16 Men.

MALAYSIAN TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME (MTCP) SCHOLARSHIP 2026

This scholarship offers an opportunity to pursue Master’s Degree studies at public universities in Malaysia.

The 2nd Anniversary of the Herostone (Nadukal) in Remembrance of Asian Labourers of Thai-Burma Death Railway, 1 May 2026, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand

The Embassy of Malaysia, Bangkok in collaboration with the Malaysians in Thailand (MIB) Club, commemorated the 2nd Anniversary of the Herostone (Nadukal) in Kanchanaburi Province on 1 May 2026 in remembrance of Asian labourers of the Thai–Burma Death Railway.

In his remarks, H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah emphasised the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices of these labourers, whose stories were long underrepresented, and reaffirmed the collective responsibility to preserve history with dignity, empathy, and respect. He also highlighted the significance of Malaysia–Thailand cooperation in promoting shared remembrance and regional unity.

In addition, H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi launched a song dedicated to the perished Asian forced labourer entitled “Romusha”. The song was written and directed by a Malaysian, Mr. Amigo Sockalinga.

The ceremony was graced by H.E. Ms. Waritha Sanguansermsri, Governor of Kanchanaburi, H.E. Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Mr. R. Muthu, Counsellor of the Embassy of India. The event was also attended by the Thailand-Tamil Association (TTA), representatives of various organisations and members of the public from various countries.
