ASTAP-38: The 38th APT Standardization Program Forum (ASTAP-38) will be held from 20 to 24 April 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

ASTAP-38 will strengthen participants’ expertise, elect ASTAP leadership, and appoint Chairs and Vice-Chairs of its Working Groups. The meeting also features a one-day Standardization and Industry Workshop on 20 April 2026.

🗓️ APT March 2026 Calendar

CGSP-1: APT will hold the 1st Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the APT Strategic Plan 2027–2029 (CGSP-1) as a fully virtual meeting via Zoom from 17 to 19 March 2026.

CGSP-1 will discuss the initial draft of the APT Strategic Plan, compiling inputs from members, and develop the first draft for circulation for further refinement.

On 26 January 2026, Ms. Rujira Thammachat, Executive Director of the International Affairs Bureau, Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission ( ), Thailand, visited the Headquarters.

📍 APT Headquarters, Bangkok, 21 January 2026: Representatives from National Telecom Public Company Limited ( ), Thailand, led by Dr. Teerawat Issariyakul, Vice President, Platform Technology and Solutions Standard Department, paid a courtesy visit to the APT Headquarters in Bangkok.

The NT delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Masanori Kondo, Secretary General of APT, together with Mr. Liu Ziping, Deputy Secretary General, and Dr. Jongbong Park, Director, Project Development.

The meeting featured constructive discussions on future in capacity building, ICT projects, and APT activities, while reaffirming the long-standing partnership between APT and NT as an APT Affiliate Member. Both sides highlighted their shared commitment to strengthening infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.

AWG-36: The 36th Meeting of the APT Wireless Group (AWG-36) will be held from 6–10 April 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, hosted by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI). Plenary sessions will be conducted in a hybrid format, with non-plenary sessions held fully virtually. AWG-36 will continue its studies on wireless systems, review progress on existing work items, and consider new proposals to support radiocommunication and digital convergence in the Asia-Pacific region.

APT PP26-3: The 3rd Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (APT PP26-3) will be held from 30 March to 2 April 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, in a hybrid format (in-person with remote participation), hosted by the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), Thailand. The meeting will review member contributions, preparatory outcomes, and work towards developing preliminary APT Common Proposals and views for ITU PP-26.

APT Symposium on Digital Transformation & Universal Service Fund: The APT Symposium on Digital Transformation and the Universal Service Fund will take place from 25–27 March 2026 in Islamabad, Pakistan, in a hybrid format (in-person with remote participation), hosted jointly by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Universal Service Fund Pakistan.

The symposium will bring together policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to explore inclusive and sustainable digital transformation, focusing on connectivity gaps, emerging technologies, affordability, financing models, policy frameworks, and regional collaboration across the Asia-Pacific.
