🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to protecting others will never be forgotten.
At FMPNavigtor, we remember those who gave everything and we stand beside the veterans, families, and survivors who carry their legacy forward every day.

This Memorial Day, take a moment to reflect, remember, and reach out to those who may be struggling. No veteran should ever feel alone.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” 🇺🇸

I'm happy to announce that on fmpnavigator.org/grants that the first annual Ed & Nancy Chestnut's Memorial Veterans Fund is live! We are currently accepting submissions for CYCLE B. Cycle B is designed to act as a grant for any disabled veteran abroad undergoing crisis or having a hard time covering medical/living expenses. The submission criteria is simple, provide a narrative essay of what your hardship is along with the rest of the information on the form submission on the website and your submission will reach us via our mail inbox. If you cannot get the submission box to work please email [email protected] to report the issue and then submit your grant request through [email protected]. I'm a little behind the gun, this was supposed to be announced prior to May 1st and that's on me but the window is open all the way to September.

Proof of service will be required, whether it be a sterilized DD214, a VA letter listing you as a disabled veteran etc will suffice. At the end of the the application period myself and a small group of veterans and non-veterans will be processing these submissions and a round of three to decide who is in the most need. The grant is $750USD, and as it is a grant it is not something you will ever need to pay back. It is free money to honor the legacy of my Grandfather and Grandmother and their story which is full of grit, hardship and just general tough times, all the while maintaining pride in my military service.

SO! Go, get on fmpnavigator.org/grants and submit your story for an easy $750USD grant that we pray will assist you in your demonstrated hardship.

One caveat, if you are indeed the recipient of the grant I have one request, that you take a silly photo and send it to us so that we may post it I honor of my Grandfather, who was quite the silly man himself. Full of sarcasm and an inexhaustible sense of humor he could often be found pestering my grandma wearing silly hats or even a ridiculous eagle mascot headpiece.

Spread this message far and wide because it is for ALL disabled veterans abroad.

God bless you all and best of luck!

Working out the bugs today in the PDF form filler for the VAFMP Registration and Claims Cover Sheet. The finish line is in sight for the FMP Navigator mobile application! Here’s a short clip to demonstrate the current working state, you’ll notice the generated .pdf file fields are a bit off. That’s what I’m fine tuning right now.

Howdy folks, I do apologize for the lack of progress or activity on this page. I've been offline for a while due to a series of cervical spine issues that led to waking up with arm, wrist and finger paralysis rendering me unable to utilize my dominant arm and hand for some time now.

Thank you to all those who have reached out in concern, especially to Joseph BigGun Blasetti and PJ and his wife from the VFW.

Thank you to my wife Ferney Grannan for taking care of me during this time. I love you 3000.

Thanks to the VAFMP, Dr. Kannit and the wonderful physio team at โรงพยาบาลสมิติเวชศรีนครินทร์ ( Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital ) I have regained enough function to move my arm and hand freely and I'll be slowly moving back into work on this project.

The next thing I'll be doing is publishing the grants page on the FMPNAV website where you will be able to apply for the "Ed & Nancy Chestnut Veterans Memorial Grant".

I still have numbness, tingling, pain and weakness in my hand and wrist and I fatigue out but I will see this project move forward.

God bless you all and cherish your health while you have it.

📣 Announcement: The Ed & Nancy Chestnut Veterans Memorial Grant

Today, I’m honored to announce the creation of the Ed & Nancy Chestnut Veterans Memorial Grant, a lasting tribute to two people who shaped my life with unwavering love, strength, and integrity.

My grandfather, William Edwin “Ed” Chestnut, was the kind of man you could navigate life by. To me, he was John Wayne in the flesh, timeless strength, steadfast, hardworking, honest, and kind without ever being soft. Whenever life got heavy or confusing, I asked myself, “What would Papaw do?”
His example never failed me.

But behind every great man is often an even greater woman.
My grandmother, Nancy, was his anchor. Her love, care, and support were constants not just in the good years, but especially in the hardest ones. In his final days, she was there as she had always been, with compassion, loyalty, and strength. She embodies the spirit of devotion that women everywhere (military spouse or not) can look to with admiration. This grant bears both of their names because their love story, their resilience, and their example deserve to live on.

Grant Funding and Purpose

To honor their legacy, I am dedicating the $1,500 he left behind to establish this grant and I will continue this program annually for as long as I draw breath.

Two awards will be issued each year:

🌱 May 11: Veteran STEM Education Grant ($750)

Awarded on the anniversary of Ed’s passing, this grant will support veteran STEM students working toward degrees or training in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
It reflects the values he instilled: hard work, perseverance, and building a better future. He was a machinist, and a darn good one. He valued technology and education.

🌍 November 8: Veteran Support Grant Abroad ($750)

Awarded on Ed’s birthday, this grant will support a veteran abroad who is navigating hardship, healthcare needs, or unique challenges far from home.

A small committee will review applications, and the goal is simple: to lift burdens, open doors, and be the kind of blessing to others that my grandparents were to me.

A Legacy That Lives On

FMP Navigator is committed to serving veterans, especially those living overseas who struggle with access to the VA Foreign Medical Program. But beyond tools and technology, this mission is also about human impact.

Through this grant, Ed and Nancy’s legacy will continue touching lives, offering hope, and honoring veterans who deserve support, just as my grandfather always believed.

Applications will open soon at FMPNavigator.org

Thank you, Papaw.
Thank you, Grandma.
Your love carries forward in every life this grant will help.

God Bless You All.
