Our Story
The current director, Hope Watcharapecha, started the Grandma Cares Partnership Program (GCPP) in February, 2004 with the support of Rotary clubs in Asia. The GCPP began as an effort to provide children affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis with psychological and social support, but rather quickly expanded to go beyond its original mission in order to service the local community.
Today, the GCPP has modernized into a force capable of dealing with the more complex problems of the 21st century. Grandma Cares not only sponsors children impacted by HIV/AIDS, but also provides local communities in the Chiang Mai area with much needed support. This includes educational funding, repairing the facilities in schools, English classes, organizing recreational activities, English literacy program for nurses and police officers, and countless other excellent projects.
We need your help to continue to helping them. The cost of providing annual care for a child under 15 is only $ 400 a year and $600 for our teenagers of 16 and older. Which covers all expenses. Or you can help an unsponsored child with a simple month by month donation of 500 to 800 baht (about $17-$20) which allows them to have a snack with milk and a hot lunch while at school. This will also pay for their transportation.
