ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော်ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံး၊ ချင်းမိုင်မြို့မှ ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ် ဦးမင်းကျော်လင်းသည် ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံ၊ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဝန်ကြီးဌာန၏ ပံ့ပိုးကူညီမှုဖြင့် လန်ပန်းခရိုင် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုကောင်စီနှင့် လန်ပန်းခရိုင်ရှိ မြန်မာအသိုက်အဝန်းတို့က လန်ပန်းမြို့မြူနီစီပါယ်ရုံးနှင့် ခရိုင်ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဌာနတို့နှင့်ပူးပေါင်း၍ လန်ပန်းခရိုင်၊ မြောင်လန်ပန်းမြို့နယ်တွင် ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်၊ ဖေဖော်ဝါရီလ ၂၈ ရက်မှ မတ်လ ၁ ရက်အထိ ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်သည့် “ဃနာနို့ဆွမ်းဆက်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းပွဲ (၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်)နှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုပြပွဲအခမ်းအနားသို့ တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

အဆိုပါ “ဃနာနို့ဆွမ်း” ဆက်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းပွဲကို ထိုင်းဘုရင် ချုလာလောင်ကွန် (ရာမ ၅) ထီးနန်းစိုးစံစဉ် ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံ၊လန်ပန်းခရိုင်အတွင်း အခြေချနေထိုင်ခဲ့သောမြန်မာလူမျိုးများကတည်ထား ကိုးကွယ်ခဲ့သော မြန်မာမှုအနုသုခုမလက်ရာများဖြင့် တည်ဆောက်ထားသည့် စေတီပုထိုး၊ ဘုရား ကျောင်းကန်များကို ပြန်လည်ထိန်းသိမ်းရန်နှင့် မြန်မာ့ယဉ်ကျေးမှု ထုံးတမ်းအစဉ်အလာများကို ပြန်လည်ဖော်ထုတ်ရန်နှင့် မြှင့်တင်ရန် အဓိကရည်ရွယ်၍ ကျင်းပခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။

ယခုကျင်းပသည့် ပွဲတော်မှာ ဒုတိယအကြိမ်ကျင်းပခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး ပထမအကြိမ်ပွဲတော်အား ၂၀၂၄ ခုနှစ်၊ ဇန်နဝါရီလတွင် ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

အဆိုပါ အခမ်းအနားသို့ လန်ပန်းခရိုင် အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူး၊ မြို့တော်ဝန်၊ လန်ပန်းခရိုင်ယဉ်ကျေးမှု ကောင်စီဥက္ကဋ္ဌနှင့် လန်ပန်းခရိုင် အစိုးရရုံးများမှ တာဝန်ရှိသူများ၊ လန်ပန်းရာဂျဘတ်တက္ကသိုလ်မှ တာဝန်ရှိသူများနှင့် မြန်မာကျောင်းသား/ကျောင်းသူများနှင့် လန်ပန်းမြို့တွင် လွန်ခဲ့သော ရာစုနှစ် များစွာကပင် အခြေချနေထိုင်ခဲ့ကြသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသားများ၏ အဆက်အနွယ် မြန်မာနွယ်ဖွား ထိုင်း နိုင်ငံသားများလည်း ပါဝင်တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်သည် ၂၈-၂-၂၀၂၆ ရက် ညနေပိုင်းတွင် ဃနာနို့ဆွမ်းဆက်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းပွဲ ဖွင့်ပွဲအခမ်းအနားသို့ အထူးဧည့်သည်တော်အဖြစ် တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

အခမ်းအနားအပြီးတွင် ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်က လန်ပန်းခရိုင်ရှိ မြန်မာနွယ်ဖွားများနှင့် လန်ပန်းရာဂျဘတ်တက္ကသိုလ်မှ တာဝန် ရှိသူတစ်ဦးနှင့် ပညာသင်ကြားနေသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသား ကျောင်းသား/ကျောင်းသူများနှင့် တွေ့ဆုံခဲ့ ပြီး မြန်မာကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံး၊ ချင်းမိုင်မြို့အနေဖြင့် ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံ၊ မြောက်ပိုင်းခရိုင်များတွင် ရောက်ရှိ နေသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသားများနှင့်ပတ်သက်၍ ဆောင်ရွက်ပေးနေသည့်ကိစ္စရပ်များကို ရှင်းလင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီး လိုအပ်ပါက မြန်မာကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံးသို့ အချိန်မရွေး ဆက်သွယ်ဆောင်ရွက်နိုင်ပါကြောင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။

ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်သည် ၁-၃-၂၀၂၆ ရက်၊ နံနက် ၀၅၃၀ နာရီ၌ လွန်ခဲ့သောနှစ်ပေါင်း တစ်ရာ ကျော်က လန်ပန်းမြို့၌ တည်ထားကိုးကွယ်သော မန္တလေးမြို့ ၊ မဟာမြတ်မုနိပုံတူ ရုပ်ပွားတော်မြတ် ကြီးကို မျက်နှာသစ်တော်ရေ ဆပ်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းခြင်းနှင့် ရောင်တော်ဖွင့်အခမ်းအနားသို့ တက်ရောက် ခဲ့ပြီး ရုပ်ပွားတော်မြတ်ကြီးအား ရောင်တော်ဖွင့်ခြင်း၊ ပန်း၊ ရေချမ်း၊ ဆီမီးနှင့် ဃနာနို့ဆွမ်းတို့ကို ဆက်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းပူဇော်ခြင်းနှင့် လန်ပန်းခရိုင်အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူး၊ မြို့တော်ဝန်တို့နှင့်အတူ သံဃာတော် များထံ ဆွမ်းဆပ်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းခြင်းနှင့် မဟာပဒေသာပင်ဆက်ကပ်လှူဒါန်းခြင်းတို့အား ဆောင်ရွက် ခဲ့ပြီး သံဃာတော်များ ရွတ်ဖတ်သရဇ္ဇာယ်သော ပရိတ်တရားတော်များနာယူခြင်း၊ အနုမောဒနာ တရားနာယူခြင်းနှင့် ရေစက်သွန်းချအမျှပေးဝေခြင်းတို့ကို ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

Consul-General of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Chiang Mai Attends the "Poi Tang Khao Somtor" (Rice Porridge Offering) Festival in Lampang

U Min Kyaw Linn, the Consul-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai, attended the “Poi Tang Khao Somtor” Offering Ceremony and Cultural Festival (2026) held in Mueang Lampang District, Lampang Province. The event took place from 28 February 2026 to 1 March 2026. Supported by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the festival was organized through the collaboration of the Lampang Municipality, the Lampang Cultural Council, and the Myanmar community in Lampang.

The event aimed to preserve Myanmar-style pagodas, stupas, and monasteries, while promoting and rediscovering the traditions of the Myanmar community that settled in Lampang during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). This marks the second time the festival has been held, following the inaugural event in January 2024.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Lampang Province, the Mayor of Lampang Municipality, the President of the Lampang Cultural Council, senior government officials, responsible persons from Lampang Rajabhat University and Myanmar students studying there and Thai nationals of Myanmar descent whose ancestors settled in Lampang over a century ago.

As a special guest, the Consul-General attended the opening ceremony on the evening of 28 February. Following the event, he met with a responsible person from Lampang Rajabhat University and Myanmar students studying there, as well as other members of the Myanmar community in Lampang.

During the meeting, the Consul-General explained the consular services provided to Myanmar citizens residing in Northern Thailand and emphasized that the Consulate-General remains open to assist the community at any time.

At 5:30 AM on 1 March 2026, the Consul-General attended the ceremonial washing and cleaning of the face of the replica Mahamuni Buddha Image (from Mandalay) and offered flowers, water, lights, and rice porridge. Following this, alongside the Governor and the Mayor of Lampang, the Consul-General offered alms-food and offering trees (Padaytha Pin) to the monks. The congregation then listened to Paritta chants and shared the merits gained from these noble acts.

ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော်အစိုးရသည် တောင်သူလယ်သမားနေ့ဖြစ်သည့် ၂-၃-၂၀၂၆ ရက် နှင့် တပ်မတော်နေ့ဖြစ်သည့် ၂၇-၃-၂၀၂၆ ရက်တို့အား အများပြည်သူ ရုံးပိတ်ရက်များ အဖြစ်သတ်မှတ်ထားသည့်အတွက် အဆိုပါရက်များသည် မြန်မာကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံး၊ ချင်းမိုင်မြို့၏ ရုံးပိတ်ရက်ဖြစ်ပါကြောင်းနှင့် နိုင်ငံကူးလက်မှတ် သက်တမ်းတိုးခြင်းအပါအဝင် ကောင်စစ်ဆိုင်ရာကိစ္စရပ်များအား ကျန်ရုံးဖွင့်ရက်များတွင် ပုံမှန်အတိုင်း ပြန်လည်ဆောင်ရွက် ပေးသွားမည်ဖြစ်ပါကြောင်း အသိပေးအပ်ပါသည်။

ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံရောက် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသူ နိုင်ငံသားများ စိတ်၏ချမ်းသာခြင်း၊ ကိုယ်၏ကျန်းမာခြင်းတို့နှင့် ပြည့်စုံကြပါစေရန် ဆုမွန်မေတ္တာပို့သအပ်ပါသည်။

The Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai wishes to inform you that the office will be closed on 2 March 2026, in observance of Peasants' Day, and on 27 March 2026, in observance of Armed Forces Day, as these dates are designated public holidays of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

During this period, all consular services, including passport extensions, will be temporarily unavailable. Services will resume on the next working day as usual.

The Myanmar Consulate-General extends its best wishes for good health and happiness to all Myanmar citizens residing in Thailand.

အဆိုပါအခမ်းအနားနှင့်တစ်ဆက်တစ်စပ်တည်း နိုင်ငံတော်ယာယီသမ္မတ၊ နိုင်ငံတော် လုံခြုံရေးနှင့် အေးချမ်းသာယာရေးကော်မရှင်ဥက္ကဋ္ဌ၊ ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မှူးကြီး မင်းအောင်လှိုင် ၏ လမ်းညွှန်မှု ဖြင့် ၂၀၂၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် ပြန်လည်ထုတ်ဝေခဲ့သော မြန်မာ့သမိုင်း၏ အမြင့်ဆုံးမှတ်တိုင်တစ်ခုဖြစ်သည့် 'မှန်နန်းမဟာရာဇဝင်တော်ကြီး' စာအုပ်တွဲအား ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်သည် ဇင်းမယ်တက္ကသိုလ်၊ မြန်မာ ဘာသာဌာနသို့ မြန်မာဘာသာစကား/ စာပေကို လေ့လာသင်ယူနေသည့် ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံသား ကျောင်းသူ/ ကျောင်းသားများဖတ်ရှုလေ့လာနိုင်ရန် လှူဒါန်းခဲ့ပါသည်။ 'မှန်နန်းမဟာ ရာဇဝင်တော်ကြီး' ကျမ်းကြီး သည် လွန်ခဲ့သော နှစ်ပေါင်း ၁၉၀ ကျော်၊ ကုန်းဘောင်မင်းဆက်၏ ခြောက်ဆက်မြောက်ဖြစ်သော ဘကြီးတော်ဘုရား ထီးနန်းစိုးစံစဉ် မှန်နန်းတော်ဦး နန်းမစနုဆောင်တော်၌ ရဟန်းပညာရှိ၊ လူပညာရှိနှင့် ပုဏ္ဏားပညာရှိတို့ဖြင့် စနစ်တကျပြုစုခဲ့သော မြန်မာ့သမိုင်းနှင့် စာပေအဆင့်အတန်းကို ဖော်ပြသည့် အမျိုးသားရေးအမွေအနှစ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ယခုလှူဒါန်းမှုသည် ချင်းမိုင်တက္ကသိုလ်တွင် မြန်မာဘာသာစကားနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုကို စိတ်ပါဝင်စားစွာ လေ့လာနေကြသည့် ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံသား ကျောင်းသား၊ ကျောင်းသူများအတွက် မြန်မာ့အတိတ်သမိုင်းနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဓလေ့များကို အသေးစိတ် လေ့လာနိုင်ရန် အထောက်အကူပြုမည်ဖြစ်သကဲ့သို့ နှစ်နိုင်ငံအကြား ပညာရေးနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဆိုင်ရာ ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်မှုနှင့် ချစ်ကြည်ရင်းနှီးမှုများကို ပိုမိုခိုင်မာစေမည်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

Consul-General Attends Myanmar Language Proficiency Competition and Presents the Glass Palace Chronicle

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai attended the Myanmar Language Proficiency Competition organized by the Burmese Division, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University, and delivered the opening address on 13 February 2026.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, the Head of the Burmese Division, Senior Professors (Retired) from Myanmar, lecturers from various faculties of Chiang Mai University, participating students and their family members, as well as Thai nationals with an interest in the Myanmar language and culture.

The competition has been organized annually by the Burmese Division of Chiang Mai University with the objective of promoting proficiency in the Myanmar language and its effective and practical use, as well as fostering a greater appreciation of Myanmar culture among Thai learners and speakers of the Myanmar language across Thailand. This year’s event was held under the theme “Colors of Myanmar” and featured a Myanmar Language Proficiency Talk Competition, a Handwriting Competition, and a Singing Competition reflecting the theme. A total of 91 participants took part in the event, comprising students from the Burmese Division of Chiang Mai University and students from basic education schools in northern Thailand who are studying the Myanmar language independently. The Burmese Division was established in 1997, and its undergraduate programme has been offered since 2017. At present, 100 Thai students are enrolled in the programme.

On the sidelines of the event, the Consul-General presented copies of the Glass Palace Chronicle (Hmannan Yazawin-daw-gyi), republished in 2025 under the guidance of Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing, to the Burmese Division for the benefit of Thai students pursuing Myanmar language studies. The Glass Palace Chronicle is a distinguished national literary heritage work systematically compiled by learned scholars, including monks, lay scholars and Brahmins — in the front chamber of the Glass Palace during the era of King Ba Gyi Daw, the sixth king of the Konbaung Dynasty, and it remains an authoritative source on Myanmar’s history and literature.

The donation is expected to further support Thai students in deepening their understanding of Myanmar’s history and cultural heritage, while contributing to the continued strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand.

The Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai wishes to inform you that the office will be closed from 12 February 2026 to 17 February 2026, as these dates are designated public holidays in observance of the 79th Anniversary of Union Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chinese New Year.

During this period, all consular services, including passport extensions, will be temporarily unavailable. Services will resume on 18 February 2026.

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn Attends the Opening Ceremony of the Workshop on Inclusive Education and Delivers the Opening Speech

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar attended the opening ceremony of a workshop titled Inclusive Education Training for the Benefit of Children with Special Needs Project on January 21, 2026, at the Duangtawan Hotel in Chiang Mai, and delivered the opening speech.

The workshop, sponsored by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency and conducted by Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, aims to promote the development of an inclusive education system for children with special needs and to strengthen the capacity of teachers from Myanmars basic education sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, along with deans, professors, and responsible officials from various faculties of the university, as well as 44 teachers from various schools and three administrative staff from Myanmars basic education sector.

The Myanmar delegation was led by U Toe Kyaw, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Basic Education under the Ministry of Education of Myanmar.

The training program is part of a three-year initiative and consists of annual two-week training sessions in Thailand.

Following the successful implementation of the first phase in 2025, the second phase will be conducted in Bangkok and Chiang Mai in 2026.

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn Served as a Panelist at a Special Forum on Connecting Cultural Food Tourism Routes in the Mekong Subregion Countries: China, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar served as a panelist at the Special Forum on Connecting Cultural Food Tourism Routes in the Mekong Subregion Countries: China, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, held on January 18, 2026, at the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center.

The forum was organized through collaboration among the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, Maejo University, and the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai. The forum aimed to explore innovative approaches to developing sustainable tourism and to promote cooperation among Lancang–Mekong countries.

Along with the Consul-General, Mr. Boonlue Thamtharanurak, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, as well as representatives from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai and the Embassy of the Lao PDR in Bangkok, also served as panelists.

The forum was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, as well as representatives from the tourism and food industries, businesspersons, and other interested participants.

At the forum, the Consul-General discussed the importance of food in diplomacy throughout world history and responded to questions regarding measures that countries such as China and Laos, and Myanmar and Thailand—which share similarities in their cuisines—should take to preserve indigenous ingredients and protect and promote traditional cooking methods without losing their original identity in today’s rapidly changing world of cultural exchange and communication.

He also suggested measures to develop food tourism as a sustainable source of income to support the socio-economic development of local communities.

Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn attended the opening ceremony of the 41st Bo Sang Umbrella & San Kamphaeng Handicrafts Festival, and the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar participated in the festival with a performance of the Myanmar traditional Pathein umbrella with Myanmar traditional dance

U Ming Kyaw Linn, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai, attended the opening ceremony of the 41st Bo Sang Umbrella & San Kamphaeng Handicrafts Festival, organized by the San Kamphaeng Municipality, on 17 January 2026.

Deputy Governors of Chiang Mai Province, Deputy President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, the San Kamphaeng District Chief Officer, the Mayor of Ton Pao Municipality, Consuls-General and Consuls based in Chiang Mai, as well as senior officials from government offices in Chiang Mai, also attended the event.

The Bo Sang Umbrella Festival showcases traditional Thai culture and is well known not only in Chiang Mai Province but also throughout Thailand. The festival is held with the aim of preserving local traditional culture and handicrafts, as well as attracting tourists. At the festival, the Bo Sang umbrella, made of paper and bamboo, is proudly displayed.

The history of the Bo Sang umbrella dates back hundreds of years, when a monk from the Lanna Kingdom discovered the traditional Pathein umbrella during his visit to Myanmar and later brought the technique back to Thailand, where it developed into the Bo Sang umbrella.

As the umbrella traditions of the two countries are closely connected, the Consulate-General of Myanmar in Chiang Mai showcased the beauty of the Pathein umbrella and presented a cultural performance featuring the Pathein umbrella dance.

In addition, the Consulates-General of China and the United States, the Consulate of India, cultural troupes from Indonesia and the Philippines, the universities and cultural organizations in Chiang Mai as well as floats decorated with Bo San Umbrellas representing each village of San Kamphaeng District, also participated in the festival.

ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော် ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံးသည် ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော် အစိုးရက နှစ်သစ်ကူးရုံးပိတ်ရက်များအဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ကြေညာထားသည့် ၂၀၂၅ ခုနှစ်၊ ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၃၁ ရက်(ဗုဒ္ဓဟူးနေ့) မှ ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်၊ ဇန်နဝါရီလ ၂ ရက် (သောကြာနေ့)အထိနှင့် ဆက်စပ်ရုံးပိတ်ရက်များ ဖြစ်သော ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်၊ ဇန်နဝါရီလ ၃ ရက်(စနေနေ့)နှင့် ၄ ရက် (တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့) တို့ အား အများ ပြည်သူ ရုံးပိတ်ရက်အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ပါကြောင်းနှင့် နိုင်ငံကူးလက်မှတ်သက်တမ်းတိုးခြင်းအပါအဝင် ကောင်စစ် ဆိုင်ရာကိစ္စရပ်များအား ၅-၁-၂၀၂၆ ရက် (တနင်္လာနေ့)တွင် ပုံမှန်အတိုင်း ဆောင်ရွက်ပေးသွားမည်ဖြစ်ပါ ကြောင်း အသိပေးကြေညာအပ်ပါသည်။

ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံရောက် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသူ နိုင်ငံသားများအားလုံး ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် နှစ်သစ်အခါသမယတွင် စိတ်၏ ချမ်းသာခြင်း၊ ကိုယ်၏ကျန်းမာခြင်း တို့နှင့် ပြည့်စုံကြပါစေရန် ဆုမွန်မေတ္တာများ ပို့သအပ်ပါသည်။

Announcement of Office Closure

The Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai wishes to inform the public that the office will be closed from 31 December 2025 (Wednesday) to 2 January 2026 (Friday), inclusive. This closure, together with the weekend, is in observance of the New Year holidays, which have been designated as public holidays.

During this period, all consular services, including passport extensions, will be unavailable. Normal services will resume on 5 January 2026 (Monday).

The Myanmar Consulate-General extends its best wishes for good health and happiness to all Myanmar citizens in Thailand on the occasion of the New Year.
