NBI-CAR’s Medico-Legal Laboratory Technician, Mr. Roderick Oribello, successfully completed the 3-day Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) training alongside participants from the Provincial Government of Mountain Province, held in Bontoc on October 6–8, 2026.

MDM provides a standardized framework during disasters and mass casualty events to ensure proper victim recovery, identification, tracking of missing persons, and support for grieving families. Because Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) plays a critical role in MDM operations, continuous training remains essential to enhancing regional disaster response capabilities.

From being the first Regional Command to be Basic Life Support (BLS) Ready early this year, NBI-CAR is proud to announce that we are now officially the first Regional Command to be Standard First Aid (SFA) Ready!

Over three intensive days, our personnel dedicated themselves—coming in early, actively learning, and mastering essential lifesaving skills. Your NBI-CAR Forensic Team is immensely proud of your determination, discipline, and eagerness to serve our community better.

Our deepest gratitude goes to our leadership, AD Janet M. Francisco and ARD Paul Alain M. Moises, for their hands-on support and active participation throughout the training.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Chief Fabienne Matib of the NBI Sagada District Office, ARD Darwin Camilo Lising of our NBI Ilocos Regional Office, and all our NBI family members from the Ilocos Regional Office, Laoag, and Dagupan District Offices for joining us. Extending our borders to train alongside our neighboring offices strengthens our collective capacity, and with management's continued support, we look forward to hosting more cross-regional training sessions in the future!

Finally, a salute to our outstanding trainers from the Baguio General Hospital Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit (BGHMC HEDMU). Baguio City is truly blessed with world-class, compassionate experts right in our own backyard.

Together as One Cordillera, we build a better, more resilient region. Dr Sheilah Mapalo and Mr Roderick Oribello attended the 3rd Quarter Full Council Meeting held last 25 September 2026.

This event spearheaded by the Civil Defense Cordillera was attended by all Regional Line Agencies in the region as well as the Local Government Units.
