Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (EJS) is an award-winning ethical experience where visitors connect with elephants in their natural environment.

Founded in 2014, we now care for over 100 elephants across four locations in Thailand. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (EJS) is an award-winning ethical and sustainable eco-tourism project based in Thailand. Founded in July 2014, it began as a joint initiative between members of the Karen hill-tribes and Chiang Mai locals who were concerned about the welfare of elephants in Thailand. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary currently has operational locations in four provinces throughout Thailand: Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, and Koh Samui. Our mission is to provide as many elephants as possible with the good health, freedom, and happiness they truly deserve. We use our progressive and ethically responsible approach to elephant eco-tourism as a platform to raise awareness and educate people from Thailand and around the world about elephant care and the plight of the Asian elephant. Our hope is to lead by example, and contribute to a positive change in the perception of elephants; to witness a future where elephants are not ridden, poached, overworked, or abused, and are instead treated with care, love, and respect. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is wholeheartedly committed to elephant welfare. Our team strives daily to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of the elephants we care for. Through the development of deep bonds and mutual trust with each elephant, we are able to offer visitors a memorable and respectful elephant interaction experience, carefully designed to adhere as closely as possible to the elephants' daily routine. EJS endeavours to provide the elephants in our care with the best available veterinary treatment, and our specialist veterinary team works tirelessly to ensure each elephant remains physically and psychologically healthy. This means that EJS is not controlled by profit-driven overseas investors or foreign interests, and we can focus on what truly matters, always acting in the best interests of the elephants we care for. As part of our commitment to elephant welfare, EJS presented 10 cases of normal saline and a plant arrangement to support the clinical team. Thank you for your tireless dedication to wildlife care! ✨

คุณยายทองดีเป็นช้างนักสู้วัย 79 ขวบ ที่ตาบอดและมีภาวะโรคผิวหนังเรื้อรังมากว่า 20 ปี คุณยายทองดีเป็นช้างที่เข้มแข็ง ใจดี กินเก่งและเอาแต่ใจบ้างเป็นบ้างครั้งค่ะ คุณยายมักทำให้ผู้คนต่างๆที่มาพบเจอมีกำลังใจและมีความสุขอยู่เสมอ

คุณยายทองดีมีเพื่อนสนิทชื่อ "คุณยายบุญมี" คุณยายชอบเดินเล่นสบายๆ ทานของอร่อย และผ่อนคลายกับการทำสปาดูแลผิวด้วยน้ำมันมะพร้าวโดยพี่ควาญคนเก่งที่เป็นทั้งผู้ดูแล และเพื่อนรู้ใจของคุณยาย🌿

Carrying the clean-up spirit forward! 🐘✨

Following our World Cleanup Day efforts, the team visited Wat Kathu to give back to our local community. We helped sweep and tidy the temple grounds, while also donating cleaning supplies and dry food to support the temple and resident monks.

True conservation starts with community care—nurturing both our island’s nature and its cultural heart. A heartfelt thank-you to the temple community for welcoming us! 🙏💚
