I registered halfheartedly during the long weekend on the website mentioned in the article, kind of : let's see what happens. Surprisingly, on monday evening (monday being an official holiday), I got an appointment for the end of the week. The email gave clear info as to where and when to go. So for those elderly persons who want to 'get it over with', this may be a convenient time. An article in the Bangkok Post indicates that soon vaccinations will be open to all, so it may get (more) crowded there. By the way, the vaccine given is supposed to be the AstraZeneca one.

Prices of vaccins per dose as ordered by the Belgian government. They ordered apparently 33+million doses for a population of about 11 million. Prices seem to be between 2 U.S. Dollar and 18 U.S. Dollar depending on the provider (times 2, if you need 2 doses M). Most countries may provide free vaccinations. However this likely will not apply for expatriates. Good to know the real cost when they want to charge thousands of baht.
