This scholarship offers an opportunity to pursue Master’s Degree studies at public universities in Malaysia.

27 April 2026 – Today, we bid farewell to H.E. Dato' Amarjit Sarjit Singh after his 38-month tenure in Timor-Leste. Over the past three years, his leadership and commitment have greatly strengthened the close ties between Malaysia and Timor-Leste.

Malaysian Ambassador Dato’ Amarjit Sarjit Singh concluded his mission in Timor-Leste on 27 April 2026.

In conjunction with the conclusion of his tenure, the Ambassador undertook farewell calls over the last several weeks, including on President of the Republic, President of the National Parliament, the Prime Minister, and both his deputies, as well as members of the 9th Constitutional Government, and President of the Court of Appeal.

The Ambassador also met with religious leaders and representatives of national and international organisations in Timor-Leste, reflecting the breadth of partnerships fostered during his tenure.

DILI, 20 April 2026 – The Embassy of Malaysia welcomed seven Timorese youth volunteers from various groups, including Jovem Inovativo ba Mudansa (JIBAM), Aileba, Escola Pública 4 de Setembro, and Juventude Dezenvolvimentu Nasional (JDN) to the Embassy for a briefing on Malaysia and its cooperation with Timor-Leste. The session further provided an opportunity for the Embassy to engage with young leaders committed to addressing education, environmental, and social issues in Timor-Leste. The Embassy looks forward to continued engagement and collaboration with youth organisations in support of inclusive and sustainable development.

DILI, 11 April 2026 — Ambassador Dato’ Amarjit Sarjit Singh addressed a General Meeting of the Sepaktakraw Federation of Timor-Leste (FSTL), this morning.

In his remarks, the ambassador commended FSTL's achievements over the last three years in popularising Sepaktakraw , and welcomed the designation of UNTL students as focal points of the sport for the country's 13 municipalities.

Also in attendance was the President of the Sports Confederation of Timor-Leste (CDTL) Mr. Afranio Xavier; FSTL President Mr. Jose Caetano Guterres; coaches, municipal focal point representatives, and athletes.

Both CDTL and FSTL expressed their appreciation to the Malaysian Ambassador for his support in advancing the development of Sepaktakraw in Timor-Leste. They further conveyed their hope that this ASEAN sport will continue to expand its reach to Portuguese-speaking countries (CPLP).

The Ambassador extended his best wishes to CDTL and FSTL for their continued success in the years ahead.
