📊 MTED Releases Market and Skills Assessment Reports
The Ministry of Trade and Economic Development is pleased to release two new reports examining the current state and future workforce needs of Tonga’s
- Construction Sector
- Tourism & Hospitality Sector.
The assessments highlight the important contribution of both sectors to Tonga’s economy while identifying key challenges, including skills shortages, labour market gaps, workforce retention, and training needs. The reports also provide practical recommendations to support sector growth, workforce development, and long-term economic resilience.
Developed with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the studies will help inform evidence-based employment policies, sector skills strategies, and improvements to Tonga’s TVET system.
