Education can be inhuman: if it is one-sided, directed, and indoctrinated; if it does not teach one to think independently, if it only gives ready-made answers; if it prepares people only for different functions instead of broadening their horizons and thereby their freedom.

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'uun, Allahumagfirlahu warhamhu wa'afihu wa'fuanhu.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our leader, our elder honourable Mr. Mehmet Recai Kutan Hoca, a pivotal figure in the establishment of Turkey's Islamic movement, Milli Görüş.

In addition to his role as a founding leader, he also served as a minister in Turkey in 1996. His contributions to the political and religious landscape of Turkey are both significant and enduring.

May Allah grant him the peaceful and highest place in Jannah. Amiin.

Press Release
International Youth Diaspora of SAYO Turkey Denounces the Murder of Palestinian Fighter Ismail Haniyyah

ANKARA – The world was stunned by the incident in Tehran, Iran on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, that claimed the life of Ismail Haniyyah, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau. An externally propelled ballistic missile was used to carry out the despicable deed. Israel was identified by Hamas as the aggressor in the incident. When Ismail Haniyyah and his bodyguards were assassinated, they were in Tehran for the new Iranian president's inauguration.

The Muslim youth organization South Asian Youth Organization (SAYO) Turkey responded to the event, expressing their sorrow for the late Ismail Haniyyah's passing and denouncing the attack.

"SAYO Turkey expresses its deep condolences over the death of martyr Ismail Haniyyah, a leader and freedom fighter for Palestine. His death is a great loss not only for the Palestinian people but also for Muslims throughout the world," said SAYO Turkey President Adhe Nuansa Wibisono, Ph.D., on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

From March 2006 until June 2014, Ismail Haniyyah served as the Palestinian National Authority's prime minister. From then until February 2017, he headed Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Prior to his murder yesterday, he served as Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau. Haniyyah participated in the resistance movements known as the First Intifada in 1987 and was given a prison sentence by an Israeli military court.
