It’s week, and Felicia for Sweden with ‘My System’ in the grand final. 🇸🇪

‘My System’ is far from the only entry this year shaped by collaborations between Swedish and international artists and songwriters: 🇫🇮 Finland, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇱🇺 Luxemburg, and 🇸🇲 San Marino have Swedish connected songwriters or dancers on their teams. Good luck to Felicia and her team!

United in peace and solidarity.

Today we celebrate Europe Day, commemorating the Schuman Declaration – the foundation of what we know as the European Union. The EU emerged from a will to ensure peace and strengthen economic ties between Europe’s countries. The Declaration highlighted two main principles – peace and solidarity – which are still priorities today when European cooperation is more important than ever.

In a world that is fraught with worry, our strongest voice is a united Europe. Europe Day reminds us that Europe’s future is being built every day – through cooperation, trust and joint will.

at the Swedish Palace! The Consulate hosted Istanbul University students and professors, our knitting partners, for the celebration of our crafts. Seeing everyone arrive with their completed knitted pieces was truly inspiring. This initiative has grown into something much larger than a workshop — it has sparked new friendships, creativity, and a vibrant network of makers who connect through the power of handcraft. 🧶❤️

A heartfelt thank you to all students, professors, and partners who joined us on this journey and helped build this meaningful bridge between our communities.🇸🇪🇹🇷

Two inspiring programmes took place at Karadeniz Technical University!

Demet Sürücü from Bahçeşehir University opened the morning by sharing her insights on Swedish timber architecture, followed by a lively workshop where KTU students designed and built a piece that will remain on campus.

Later in the day, the Swedish Institute’s Polar Expedition exhibition opened with films, talks, and a tour that sparked great conversations about polar research.

A big thank‑you to all the students for your curiosity and inspiring discussions throughout the day.

Forest heritage and future innovation were at the heart of Consul General Karin Hernmarck’s visit to Trabzon.

During the trip, she met with Governor Tahir Şahin, Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı and professors and students at Karadeniz Technical University. She opened the Woodlife Sweden exhibition, and joined General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) for a tour of the region’s remarkable wooden structures.

A warm thank you to KTÜ, Bahçeşehir University and OGM for making this inspiring programme possible.

In Gothenburg, a data centre is helping to grow herbs and veggies 🌱💡 Waste heat from servers is powering a year‑round greenhouse—thanks to Greenhouse Living Architecture Company, Gothenburg Energy and the City. Urban farming with reused heat means less energy use and fewer transport miles 🚚🌍.
