The Disaster Management Unit, continues its Comprehensive Disaster Preparedness Training with government and private agencies across the Port of Spain district.

Participants gained valuable knowledge on:

✅ Pre- and post-event recovery strategies for home & office
✅ Fire suppression techniques
✅ CPR & life-saving skills
✅ Light search and rescue
✅ Scene assessment, and more

With both theory and hands-on training, participants are now better equipped to protect lives and property in times of emergency.

The Port of Spain Disaster Management Unit assisted Moulton Hall Methodist School with the successful ex*****on of a fire drill, reinforcing emergency preparedness and promoting a culture of safety among students and staff.

The Disaster Management Unit, has kicked off its Comprehensive Disaster Preparedness Training for government and private agencies across the Port of Spain district!

Participants were taught on the importance of disaster preparedness, post and pre event strategies for home and office recover, Fire suppression, CPR, Light search and rescue, scene assessment and more. Participants also received hands-on training in essential life-saving skills.

Today marks the start of the Port of Spain Disaster Management Unit’s School Disaster Awareness Program at Nelson Street Boys R.C Primary School empowering our youth with knowledge and helping to build a more resilient community and nation.

Last week, our team successfully completed the Emergency Operations Centre: Operations and Planning for All-Hazards training hosting by the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.
Strengthening our capacity, sharpening our response, and staying ready to serve.

A fallen tree at Fatima College is currently blocking the main entrance.

The Port of Spain Disaster Management Unit, along with the Port of Spain Parks and Squares Division, has been activated and is on-site cutting and removing the tree to restore safe access.

💪The Port of Spain Disaster Management Unit, together with the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government’s Disaster Management Unit, joined forces to assist the Ministry of Education in packaging food supplies for Jamaica. 🇯🇲🤝
