The Office of the Attorney General is committed to improving public understanding of the laws that shape our nation. Today, we highlight the Criminal Records (Rehabilitation of Offenders) Act, 2026 and its role in modernising Trinidad and Tobago’s criminal justice system.
The Act seeks to reduce the long-term impact of certain criminal records for eligible individuals who have demonstrated genuine rehabilitation and maintained a ‘crime-free’ record.
