In observance of Corpus Christi, the Ministry of Homeland Security distributed seedlings to staff, courtesy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in support of the longstanding tradition of planting on this sacred day.
In Trinidad and Tobago, Corpus Christi is closely associated with the start of the rainy season and is regarded as an auspicious time for planting, with the belief that crops sown on this day will bring a bountiful harvest.
As we honour this cherished tradition, the Ministry encourages everyone to continue nurturing the values of growth, sustainability and community for generations to come.
