Members of the public are advised that matters which were scheduled to be heard at the Industrial Court on Thursday 28th May, 2026 namely, open court hearings, conciliations, case management conferences, and mention and reports, have been adjourned. The Industrial Court will notify parties of the new dates of hearing.
This is necessary to facilitate attendance at the funeral service of the late Her Honour Ms. Bindimattie Mahabir.
Parties should note that the Court will be open for business including filing documents.

MEDIA RELEASE: PASSING OF HER HONOUR MS. BINDIMATTIE MAHABIR, JUDGE OF THE INDUSTRIAL COURT OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: It is with profound sadness that the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago (Industrial Court) announces the passing of one of its long-serving judges, Her Honour Ms. Bindimattie Mahabir. Her Honour was a distinguished Member who dedicated over two and a half decades of service to the Court, having been appointed as a Member in the General Services Division of the Industrial Court in October 2000.
Throughout her 26-year tenure, Her Honour Ms. Mahabir presided over several sittings in open Court and successfully settled many matters in conciliation. Prior to joining the bench, she served as a Senior Conciliator in the Ministry of Labour where she played a pivotal role in mediating disputes.
Beyond her professional achievements, Her Honour Ms. Mahabir was a well-established figure within the Industrial Court community. To the Members and staff of the Court, she will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, and her engaging and expressive conversations.
The President, all her colleagues on the bench and the entire Industrial Court extend its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Her Honour Ms. Bindimattie Mahabir during this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace.
