🌍🤝 Diplomacy in Practice
Yesterday, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands welcomed participants of the Women Parliamentarians TT YES Leadership Programme – Cohort 3 for an afternoon of engagement, learning, and dialogue.
Hosted by Ambassador Cor Hersbach and members of the Embassy team, the programme offered participants practical insights into diplomacy, international co-operation, and the work of a diplomatic mission. Through interactive discussions, participants explored the diverse roles within the Embassy and gained a behind-the-scenes look at diplomacy in action.
The afternoon also featured a virtual discussion with Ambassador Lise Gregoire, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Nations, on the role of the UN and multilateral diplomacy.
The Embassy is proud to support initiatives that empower young women, foster leadership, and inspire the next generation of changemakers.

🌍 World Refugee Day
Everyone has the right to seek safety.
Safety means more than protection from violence, it also means access to education, work, documentation, dignity, and the opportunity to rebuild a future.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands continues to support refugees and host communities through partnerships with UNHCR and other international partners, helping to strengthen resilience, self-reliance, and inclusion.
Today, we stand in solidarity with refugees worldwide and recognise their courage, strength, and contributions.

🌊 With approximately one-quarter of the Netherlands below sea level, adapting to water has never been optional.
This article from the Dutch Water Sector highlights how the Netherlands is responding to rising seas through innovative engineering, nature-based solutions, and long-term climate planning. Many of these lessons resonate far beyond Europe, particularly for Caribbean Small Island Developing States facing increasing coastal and climate-related challenges.
An interesting read on resilience, adaptation, and the importance of preparing today for tomorrow’s realities.

🌈 Today marks the beginning of Pride Month.
Pride is a time to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the fundamental principle that everyone should be free to be themselves and enjoy the same rights, dignity, and opportunities.
Around the world, many LGBTIQ+ persons continue to face discrimination, violence, and exclusion. This month, we reaffirm the importance of respect, equality, and human rights for all.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands remains committed to promoting and protecting equal rights and fostering societies where everyone can live openly, safely, and authentically.
Because a society that values diversity and inclusion is stronger, fairer, and more resilient for everyone.
🌈 Happy Pride Month.
