The opening of the brand new San Fernando Car Park on the compound of San Fernando General Hospital marks a new dawn of easy parking for employees and patients of the hospital as well as patrons of the Wharf and water taxi. This endeavour executed by Udecott through the cabinet and through the efforts of the member of Parliament for San Fernando West the Honourable Faris Al-Rawi, continues the rehabilitation and improvement of the San Fernando waterfront as we continue to bring San Fernando into the future!

This being my last official function as the Mayor of San Fernando, it was my honour and privilege to conclude my term with this initiative which will continue to move our great city forward in the same way that I have always committed myself and my efforts to.

On Sunday 6th August at City Hall San Fernando, I was pleased to launch in the presence of notable historians, professors and contributors to San Fernando history, the latest endeavor of the San Fernando City Corporation, The City Around the Hill: The San Fernando Story.

The book was authored by the late Professor Brinsley Samaroo and was his final body of work before his recent passing.

This story of San Fernando was a commitment by me as Mayor, with the support of Council members to document the history of San Fernando from the 1900’s to now. This book was sponsored by the Private Sector for which we are thankful.

This book will serve as an invaluable resource to not only scholars and academics but children and leisurely readers as it serves to enlighten all of the rich historical past of the City and those who have served as pivotal contributing forces.

Copies will be available at the City Corporation at a cost of $400.00

The handing over of the "The City Around The Hill," presented by Mr. Clifford Narinesingh of RPC Royards Publishing Co. and received by His Worship the Mayor, Alderman Junia Regrello. To the extreme right we have the Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, who is also the Member of Parliament for San Fernando West, Mr. Faris Al-Rawi. The left of His Worship is the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Kathy - Ann Mills - Mark, and at her side, the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for San Fernando East, Mr. Brian Manning.
