Today, Wednesday,.10th June 2026, representatives of the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago paid a courtesy call on Dr. Faith Brebnor, Deputy Chief Secretary with responsibility for the Division of Health and Wellness (DHW). Also participating in the discussions were members of staff from the newly established Workforce Wellness Unit within the Division.
This engagement follows a consultation held in March 2026, which focused on research undertaken by the Family Planning Association to better understand public beliefs, concerns, and knowledge relating to sexual and reproductive health. A key area of discussion during the courtesy call was the need for effective public education and improved accessibility to family planning services across communities throughout Tobago. Special attention was given to youth-focused initiatives, with the aim of engaging young people in ways that are relatable, respectful, and informative.
The Division remains committed to working collaboratively with partners to improve access to health information, strengthen service delivery, and support healthier families and communities throughout Tobago.
