Easter marked an important milestone for this little one 🤍

Our £5 Friday Instagram appeal in February successfully raised enough funds to support our little ‘D’ of Hope and Soul Daycare to have custom splints made for his intoeing. At the beginning of this month we attend his casting appointment and we would love to share how it went!

The journey to the specialist hospital started with a quick stop at the supermarket beforehand to pick up some juice and biscuits for the journey home! At the clinic, the doctor reviewed his treatment plan and proceeded to make full casts of both legs using POP…

He was very intrigued but content during the application - lots of warm and soft POP bandages which helped keep him comfortable. When the casts hardened and needed to be removed (with the big scissors) he did become a little teary, but was quickly reassured with plenty of comfort 🥹💙

Finishing with a thorough clean-up (a little bucket bath to wash off the POP!), which he took in his stride. We then headed home, where he fell asleep in the car but not before finishing his juice and most of his biscuits!

It was a big day for such a small boy, and he handled it with remarkable resilience. Thank you again to everyone who made this step forward possible 💙🤍

Last, but certainly not least! Celebrating our powerhouse trustee duo whose dedication led them straight to the heart of Hope and Soul. It’s time 🙌🏾 Time to pause our posts, reflect, and truly appreciate the incredible hearts behind everything we achieved this March.. With our Hope and Soul volunteers!!

We’re so grateful for trustees who lead with curiosity, commitment, and heart. While we know not everyone can make the journey to Tanzania, we’re especially grateful that Richard and Philippa chose to experience it firsthand. Taking the time to visit our projects, gaining a deeper understanding of Hope and Soul in action. From connecting with our team to experiencing the impact on the ground, their presence truly meant more than words can say 🥰

Richard was part of the renovation team repairing the roof for one of our daycare mothers’ homes. Philippa led a Bible study for our daycare parents. They both spent time in each class at Hope and Soul Daycare, truly taking the time to understand our work and appreciate the dedication of every member of staff. Through home visits, they saw firsthand the strength within the community that we serve. Also the difficult reality of not being able to help everyone, and the responsibility we carry in making those decisions with care and respect…

Their engagement showed how meaningful it is when leadership takes the time to listen and learn. March was brighter because of you. Stronger because of you. Better because of you. Thank you Richard and Philippa for all that you have already done for us and all that you continue to do, we hope you will return again one day. Thank you for your ongoing outstanding dedication to your trustee role…

This is what volunteering with Hope and Soul looks like. But it’s even more powerful when you experience it in real life. There’s always space for you! Why not come be part of it? 💙

After Lloyd and Shannon left Tanzania in March 2025, we told the daycare kids to wave at every plane as if it was Uncle Lloyd and Auntie Shannon flying by and they did it without fail!! But then in March 2026, just one year later, Auntie Shannon really was on the plane and this time - coming back to see us 🥹 It’s time 🙌🏾 Time to pause our posts, reflect, and truly appreciate the incredible hearts behind everything we achieved this March.. With our Hope and Soul volunteers!!

Returning volunteers have an incredibly special and unique opportunity to see the growth of not only our little ones but our community impact as a whole. Shannon made some memorable friendships on her first trip and from her first day back this year it was like she never left. Her kindness and generosity came through in suitcases packed with thoughtful gifts for EVERY child at Hope and Soul (it takes a special person to think of tiaras for our daycare girls 🥹)

Shannon used her early years education training to teach at Hope and Soul Daycare. Treated a group from our Youth Support projects to a shoe shopping trip and an Ice cream outing made possible by her fundraiser. Even on the Moshi trip she managed to convince our wonderful friend and driver Msabaha to have a swim in the hot spring with her support and reassurance. She made the children feel so safe and at ease at daycare that many of them drifted off to sleep next to her 🥹😴

All this, including safari and hairbraiding too and much more in just two weeks spent here in Arusha, Tanzania. March was brighter because of you. Stronger because of you. Better because of you. Thank you Auntie Shannon for returning. Thank you for your ongoing generosity…

This is what volunteering with Hope and Soul looks like. But it’s even more powerful when you experience it in real life. There’s always space for you! Why not come be part of it? 💙

It’s time 🙌🏾 Time to pause our posts, reflect, and truly appreciate the incredible hearts behind everything we achieved this March.. With our Hope and Soul volunteers!! Next up in our apprenticeship posts is Auntie Lindsey 😍💙

Lindsey decided to join the group as a last minute addition and we are SO pleased that she did. Her heart of willingness, understanding and adaptability are a joy to be around and we honestly couldn’t imagine the group without her now 🥰

Having supported Hope and Soul for many years, this trip gave Lindsey the chance to make her giving feel even more personal and connected. After meeting our new twin boys at Hope and Soul daycare we are delighted she’s now chosen to direct her support to them 🩵💙

With years of nursing experience, Lindsey supported our first aid training day, spent time with a community palliative care team, and joined our NICU visit where we gifted clothing bundles to mothers of premature babies. She showed wonderful dedication to the children and staff at Hope and Soul daycare, a genuine interest in solutions for families in need that we met during home visits, AND came with so many generous donations - including sunglasses, a firm daycare favourite!

All this and much more in just two weeks spent here in Arusha, Tanzania. March was brighter because of you. Stronger because of you. Better because of you. Thank you Auntie Lindsey for your passion. Thank you for your generosity…

It’s time 🙌🏾 Time to pause our posts, reflect, and truly appreciate the incredible hearts behind everything we achieved this March.. With our Hope and Soul volunteers!! Starting with an appreciation post for our Uncle Steve 😍💙

Steve has incredible way with children and an ability to connect with every person that he meets. Wearing his heart on his sleeve and sharing it generously with all our Hope and Soul beneficiaries we have loved getting to know and love our Uncle Steve 🥹

He worked as part of the renovation team repairing the roof for one of our daycare mothers’ homes, participated in the NICU visit at a local government hospital, finished the painting project for our daycare railings, supported daycare classes both with resources and his knowledge, shared his first-aid knowledge and equally masterful Dobble skills! Helped dig my car out of the mud and finished his trip by starting a sponsorship for one of our new Daycare children ❤️

All this and much more in just two weeks spent here in Arusha, Tanzania. March was brighter because of you. Stronger because of you. Better because of you. Thank you Uncle Steve for your passion. Thank you for your generosity…

Last weekend we had the privilege of a little impromptu office celebration for our incredible counsellor Chaz! 🥳

Our wonderful Uncle Chaz spent his birthday working all weekend! But with our Hope and Soul youth beneficiaries around and a surprise cake, we shared a really special moment to celebrate together 🥰🩵

Chaz is a dedicated and inspiring counsellor who meets weekly with Hope and Soul beneficiaries. He has helped create meaningful breakthroughs for many of our youth and mothers who have experienced significant trauma. We’re so grateful for all he does, it was a real honour to celebrate him (and share some birthday cake 🎂)

Happy Easter (belated) from Tanzania ✝️🤍

The Easter break is the shortest school holiday for us which means an incredible amount of work in a fleeting space of time. We have savoured the short but sweet time and loved having our boarders back in town to celebrate Easter together 🥰

No Easter eggs (or any chocolate, actually), yet the children are still incredibly content with home-cooked food and time together. Holding onto what Easter is truly about, and being grateful for all the little things..

Beautiful bountiful bundles, for little ones in need 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated preemie outfits for our recent NICU visit. Your generosity has made it’s way into the tiniest hands and brought comfort, warmth, and care to newborns at a government hospital here in Tanzania…

Our recent Hope and Soul volunteers Steve and Lindsey helped pack the bundles and joined the precious ward visit. Although for obvious reasons we didn’t take pictures at the hospital, we hope you know how grateful the staff and mothers were for every single contribution ❤️

This is what it’s all about..

Last week one of our Hope and Soul Youth beneficiaries sent me this message on his Birthday. I don’t share to glorify myself but to show how life changing Hope and Soul support is..

Thank you to each and every one of you who continue to help us change the lives of so many. A change that comes from the heart and reaches deep into the heart of those we are helping 🥹🤍

I am so blessed that on his Birthday the first thought he had is to thank those who have helped him reach where he currently is and I wanted to share that thanks with you - our Hope and Soul Family 🥰

Messages like these are the proof that our work to support education for children and young people has a lasting and important impact 🤍
