April 26th is Union Day! Come celebrate and learn about the union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar at the Arusha Declaration Museum!

Come to the museum today (April 13) to celebrate the birthday of Mwalimu Nyerere! Mw. Nyerere greatly impacted the history of Tanzania, and you can learn all about how he did it at the Arusha Declaration Museum!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Arusha Declaration Museum! The Museum was founded on the 10-year anniversary of the Arusha Declaration, which was drafted 50 years ago, in 1967. It was at the museum that the National Executive Committee of TANU met to prepare the Arusha Declaration document, which proposed the National Policy of Socialism and Self-Reliance. You can come in to the museum to learn more about this historical event and other events that have shaped the history of our country.

Our grounds provide a beautiful place to relax, along with being a place for local students to study.

Our exhibition hall features historical photos and artifacts, which provide insight into the history of Tanzania.
