Today, EU Member States Ambassadors met with Hon. Amb. M.T. Kombo, Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, for a high-level political dialogue.

Discussions focused on:

✅EU concerns with regard to Tanzania’s Human Rights and Democracy situation & foreign policy priorities

✅ cooperation based on democracy, rule of law, values & mutual interests.

🇧🇪🇹🇿 This week, Ambassador Peter Huyghebaert and Deputy Head of Mission Benjamin Sturtewagen paid a visit to the Pan African Lawyers Union in Arusha.

Together we explored new avenues for collaboration between the Belgian Embassy and PALU to advance justice, strengthen institutions, and uphold the rule of law in Tanzania, East Africa and across the continent.
As the continental voice of Africa’s bar associations, law societies and legal professionals, PALU knows that when they raise the Bar, they do more than strengthen the legal profession, they strengthen justice, governance, and the institutions that underpin democratic societies.

What started as a catch-up became a far-reaching conversation on the future of the rule of law, access to justice, and legal sector development. The common ground was clear and this conversation is far from over.

🇧🇪🇹🇿 Wiki hii, Balozi Peter Huyghebaert na Naibu Benjamin Sturtewagen walifanya ziara katika Umoja wa Mawakili wa Afrika jijini Arusha.

Kwa pamoja tulichunguza fursa mpya za ushirikiano kati ya Ubalozi wa Ubelgiji na PALU kukuza haki, kuzijengea taasisi nguvu, na kudumisha utawala wa sheria nchini Tanzania, Afrika Mashariki na bara zima.

K**a sauti ya bara ya vyama vya mawakili, jumuiya za kisheria na wataalamu wa sheria barani Afrika, PALU wanafahamu kuwa wanapopandisha hadhi ya taaluma, hawaimarishi tu sekta ya sheria, bali wanaimarisha haki, utawala bora, na taasisi zinazoshikilia misingi ya jamii za kidemokrasia.

Kilichoanza k**a mazungumzo ya kirafiki kiligeuka kuwa mjadala mpana kuhusu mustakabali wa utawala wa sheria, upatikanaji wa haki, na maendeleo ya sekta ya sheria. Mwafaka ulikuwa wazi, na mazungumzo haya bado hayajafikia tamati!

A new milestone in the story of connecting our countries!

Last night the Embassy had the great honour to join the 🇹🇿 Honorable Minister of Transport, the Honorable Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & East African Cooperation as well TCAA and TAA leadership to welcome the very first passengers of Brussels Airlines flying straight from 🇧🇪 to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), making KIA the 18th destination in the Brussels Airlines network across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Disembarking first was Julia Hillenbrand, the Lufthansa Group’s Vice President Sales EMEA, who officially announced the start of year-round twice-weekly flights. And what a start it was! Water salute, welcome dance and the best of Tanzanian hospitality.

Brussels Airlines will be bringing tourists, businesses and cargo to and from Europe to and from Tanzania, and well beyond. Enabling friendships, building partnerships and stimulating exchange.

Jana usiku, Ubalozi ulikuwa na heshima kubwa kuungana na Mheshimiwa Waziri wa Uchukuzi 🇹🇿, Mheshimiwa Naibu Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, pamoja na viongozi wa TCAA na TAA, kuwapokea abiria wa kwanza kabisa wa Brussels Airlines waliowasili moja kwa moja kutoka 🇧🇪 hadi Uwanja wa Ndege wa Kimataifa wa Kilimanjaro (KIA). Na mwanzo wake ulikuwa wa kipekee! Salamu ya maji, ngoma za ukaribisho na ukarimu bora wa Kitanzania.
