The current administration is responsible for more children’s deaths than any administration in history since the dropping of nuclear bombs on Japan in WW II. Iranian school children, doge cuts of USAID for the poorest children around the world, children in Gaza and Ukraine just to name a few. How dare some call this administration “pro-life.” They have prioritized the right to life for American fetuses over the right to live for other children already born.

I vividly remember when the Soviet Union collapsed. I was in my second year in college studying the history, ideology and global influence of this dictatorship in an academic concentration called "Soviet and Eastern European Studies.

In 1989 the world felt joy and hope when the Berlin Wall fell. Once that dam broke, the end was inevitable. Then came the horror of the murderous Soviet crackdown in Lithuania in 1991 as they tried in vain to hold on to their empire.

In December of 1991, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus dissolved the Soviet Union and fifteen new countries were born. The world was changed for the better, or so we thought.

Many factors contributed to this moment. All empires inevitably crack and begin to rot. The disastrous war in Afghanistan exacerbated the economic strain created by decades of military expenditures. The Soviets could no longer provide basic needs while simultaneously competing against Reagan's buildup and his willingness to challenge them at every turn. Glasnost and Perestroika, Gorbachev's dual efforts to modernize Soviet society backfired when the people got a taste of what could be.

In the West we felt we "won" the Cold War. We spoke of a "peace dividend" and the United States assumed the position of the world's only superpower. Some people called this "the end of history."

While we cheered, took a victory lap and hoped to help guide these new emerging democracies, we failed to understand that there were those like Vladimir Putin for whom the Cold War never ended.

In 1999 dictatorship in the fascist, imperial mold returned to russia. Many in the United States recognized this threat, most did not.

Perhaps we weren't vigilant enough. But never in my life did I expect to see my country, led by the republican party eagerly stand on the side of tyranny and imperialism. The party of Reagan now helps resuscitate and support an empire that we spent years, blood and treasure trying to defeat.

What I am witnessing now in my United States is unconscionable. Trump has always had deep ties to the dark underbelly of russia. His sons brag about the financing they receive from shady Russian oligarchs. He has selected pro-Russian politicians to cabinet positions. He has stated that he trusts the FSB over his own intelligence services.

I don't want to believe conspiracies, that he was compromised by the KGB on his all expense paid trip to Moscow in 1987. However, in light of his history of deference to Putin and his now intentional switching of sides in the war between good and evil, right and wrong, democracy and tyranny, it is hard not to.

The truth is actually worse than that. The truth is that a malignant narcissist with no values and a transactional view of policy is grasping at straws to defect blame for his disastrous decisions.

Ukraine is an easy mark. From his shallow promise to "end the war in 24 hours," to his hatred of Zelensky, he sees no problem leaving Ukraine to fend for itself with only a disorganized and unprepared Europe to defend it. Ukraine is being sacrificed at the altar of cynical political expediency.

I am sick, angry, frustrated and tormented at this. I fear for the mental and physical health of my friends throughout Ukraine as they weather hour after hour of unrelenting attacks. We don't know what to say, how to comfort or ease both the pain of war, and betrayal.

I am consumed by hatred, not only for Putin, but for the smug cabal of traitorous and ignorant Americans willing to abandon the values and principles that our country was founded on, and that we have defended throughout our history.

But I want my Ukrainian friends to know, that you still have very broad and determined support in the United States. We still remember the feelings we had when we watched freedom come to Eastern Europe and we understand that what our government is doing is objectively wrong.

Those of us who have committed to helping you will not stop. This is not only the right thing to do for Ukraine, but it also an act of resistance by decent Americans against the creeping fascism and moral vacuousness that our leaders represent. Stand strong, and we will always stand with you.

Congressman Gregory Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced the bipartisan Prohibit Corrupt Russia Oil Deals Act aimed block President Trump’s deal with Vladimir Putin to purchase and import Russian diesel.

The bill prohibits the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) from investing in Russian energy; nullifies the general licenses issued by the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and prohibits future licenses; and mandates the Trump administration impose sanctions on Russian energy.

Sadly… just as I predicted the current president relieved sanctions on ruzzia from the recent passed Graham bill. I’m sick of being right.

But in a way, I was also wrong. This action further exposes 45/47 as a ruzzian sympathizer (or worse) to the patently stubborn who have thus far refused to acknowledge his affinity for ruzzia despite so much history and evidence to the contrary.

ACTION IS THE ANTIDOTE TO DESPAIR:
Call and email your elected official’s office and the White House this weekend and voice your opposition to your tax dollars helping ruzzia murder innocent civilians, including children.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged support for U.S. sanctions against Russia after President Donald Trump paused them.

Now is the time to take action.

Now is the time to take action.

"This is not the right side of history."

In an interview with Piers Morgan today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said of the United States, "It's a pity that we are losing a strong partner." When asked "Do you think you are losing America," the president responded, "Yes, but not because of us. We can't be weak, otherwise we can't survive."

He went on to say that this is why it's painful when President Trump chooses to be on Russia's side, and that this is not the right side of history.

If you would like to be on the right side of history, go to the ACU Action Center right now and tell your representatives that Americans do not want to fund Russia's war in Ukraine by purchasing Russian diesel.

Hi all, The American Coalition for Ukraine has asked that we take action in Tennessee and beyond. I'm including the article below and will try to get out an email as relates as well. Please spread this far and wide and write to Dan Hagerty as he is key on this issue.

We are asking members of Congress to write to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and ask that Aughinish Alumina and its Moscow-based trader, Aluminium Sales Company, be added to the sanctions list.

HOW DO WE FIGHT BACK? - The same people who asked me to help trump pass the Graham Sanctions Bill, which I knew was a farce and publicly said so, have now asked me to help them undo the damage that the U.S. president is now doing by buying ruzzian diesel.

Because of Friday's announcement, US tax dollars are now funding Putin's murdering of Ukrainian civilians through bombings of hospitals, schools, playgrounds, maternity wards, buses, trains, energy infrastructure, etc. The same type of bombings that I endured personally when in Ukraine back in August but now, much, much worse.

Putin is losing on the battlefield, so he bombs civilians. 45/47 is losing in the polls, so he desperately throws a lifeline to Putin, who just last week murdered 70 Ukrainians including over five children. Instead of condemning, 45/47 called to congratulate the war criminal/child murderer on his birthday (If that's okay with you, then please unfollow me).

I am not interested in "I told you so" or personal ego. I'm interested in ending unnecessary human suffering. Which is why I'm taking THIRTY SECONDS to CLICK THE LINK BELOW to send this email to my elected representatives AND SHARING.

I hope you will too.
