Rt. Hon. Jacob Marksons Oboth (NRM) has been elected the Speaker of the 12th Parliament, having garnered 441 votes against Hon. Paul Mwiru's 60 and Hon. Nobert Mao's 15.

Hon. Oboth has taken oath as Speaker and received instruments of power from H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
