�UWA Library is to organize and preserve the organization's information resources to inspire engagement and research, to enable its users in promoting research and innovation to the conservation of wildlife resources.
�Access to the library
The library is open to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) members and all visitors any time. The library is open to any member of the public doing research in W
ildlife, Tourism, Forestry, and related areas such as environment, natural resources, etc.
�Entry to the library is entirely free of charge.
�Notices of reduced hours will be posted several days on this site and on the library entrances or announced hours in advance to the clients.
�The library’s collection (sources) fall into the following categories:
• Collections from UWA
• Collections purchased from book stores
• Collections from researchers
• Collections donated by government, well wishers
• Partner organizations
• International wildlife conservation institutions
• Collections from subscriptions, etc
�The library is open to all UWA staff, and to visitors on or without appointment. The library is only for reference service to external users, lending out materials is restricted to staff only, however, we offer guidance on how to acquire the literature you want.
�The catalogue
The library collection is accessible through an electronic Library catalogue, which is searchable by author, title (word) and subject, etc. The Librarian provide assistance in searching for materials.
�In the database, its bibliographic data contained in the catalogue & in our collection, we have a few full text documents as pdf available.
�Opening hours
UWA’s library is open Monday-Friday, from 8.00 to 17.00 hours. Note that the library opening hours are subject to change, so visit this library page to remain updated.
�Borrowing & renewing loans
A maximum of three items may be borrowed from the library at any one time. The maximum loan period is 10 days, renewable up to a maximum of 15 days. Reference works in lockable cabinet plus a few periodicals may not be borrowed. By borrowing items from the library, borrowers agree to be responsible for those items, including the cost of replacing lost or damaged items. PLEASE NOT THAT “our materials are in gray form” not easily acquired from elsewhere. Renewals can be made by sending an email or by telephone.
