Over 2000 teachers in Wakiso district have completed a refresher training on the new Lower Secondary Curriculum.

The training was aimed at equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively teach senior three content and manage leaner assessment under the new curriculum.

Compared to the old curriculum, the new curriculum is learner centered, designed to meet a learner's needs and aspirations by improving their creativity, teamwork,communication skills and develop the ability to think critically.

Of the 3,089 applications recieved this year, 625 students will be supported to study under the loan scheme this Academic Year.(2022/23)

Government of Uganda recognizes the need for more funding to capitalize the Higher Education Students Financing Board, because the demand for student loans has certainly surpassed the available resources.

Happening now: Uganda observes the World Teachers'Day at Kololo Ceremonial grounds.

Since time immemorial, Teachers have taken lead in transforming the Education sector.

This Wednesday, Uganda will commemorate the World Teachers' Day by celebrating the efforts of our teachers, and also reflect on the support they need to fully be able to deploy their talents.

41 instructors have been flagged off for offshore training in Oil and Gas construction related trades and Road Construction trades in the UK and France.
18 instructors from UTC Kichwamba will be trained by Coventry University in the UK, while the 23 from UTC Lira will be trained by Sfere/Afpa, an Education institution in France.

These trainings will expose our instructors to world class industrial skills, and with these they will be able to support our students in the Vocational and Technical institutions.

Uganda Technical Colleges, Nursing Training Schools and Uganda Colleges of Commerce semester one will begin on the 9th of Feb, 2023.

Kindly note that the start of Term One for S.1, S.5 and Year One for Technical/Farm Schools and Community Polytechnic will be communicated in due course.

OFFICIAL: Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary schools are set to close for third term holidays on Nov 25, 2022.

The change in the education calendar has been brought about by the Ebola outbreak in the country.

We shall work with the Ministry of Works and Transport to issue out guidelines to follow during transportation of learners, to avoid congestion at bus and taxi parks.
