The New Designate Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Uganda H.E Paul Molong Akaro who arrived on 7th February 2025, today presented copies of his credentials to the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. J J Odongo at the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda. He was cordially received by the Honorable Minister and they discussed issues of mutual interest of the two sisterly countries and agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations.

On, Monday 3rd February, 2025, H.E. Amb. Simon Juach Deng's tenure as the Republic of South Sudan Head of Mission to the Republic of Uganda officially came to an end after bidding farewell to His Excellency President Yoweri K. Museveni. During the meeting, Ambassador Simon Juach brought greetings and congratulations from His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit to His brother President Museveni on the occasion of 39th anniversary of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) founding and the stability it brought to Uganda. The discussion touched key matters of bilateral and multilateral significance between the two sisterly countries. Amb. Juach thanked the government of Uganda for the cooperation accorded to him during his tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Sudan to the Republic of Uganda.

South Sudan delegation is participating at Extraordinary AU Summit on the Post-Malabo Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Programme (CAADP) at Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo under the theme "Building Resilient Agrifood Systems in Africa."
Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held a sideline meeting with his Ugandan counterpart, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
