India’s commitment towards Global South. High Commissioner witnessed signing ceremony of India-UNDP Fund-aid project to support development of human capital among Burundian youths in 6 provinces. It aims at up-liftment of socio-economic life of youth across Burundi in Health, Social Cohesion, Entrepreneurship and E-commerce. It will further reinforce bilateral relations between the two countries.

Secretary (ER) paid a Coutesy Call on Hon. Matia Kasaija, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Govt. of Uganda and Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, Minister of State Foreign Affairs in charge of International Affairs, Govt of Uganda. Entire gamut of bilateral, regional and multilateral relations were discussed.

As part of Uganda-India Business Conclave, Mr. Dammu Ravi, Secretary (ER) alongwith Hon FrankTumwebazek, Minister ofAgriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries & Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister of Finance for Investment Privatisation participated & addressed a session on 'Investment Climate in Uganda’ and ‘Agriculture & Food Processing Industries’.

During Uganda-India Business Conclave, High Commissioner Sh. Upender Singh Rawat hosted a dinner for business delegation led by Mr. Dammu Ravi, Secretary (ER), members of trade chambers Uganda Manufacturers' Association, National Information Technology Authority, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, Uganda Investment Authority, Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Hon. Anite Evelyn, State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatisation graced event as Chief Guest. Secretary (ER), Hon. Anite Evelyn, Hon’ble Fred Opolot, MP & Chairman of Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Indian Affairs also addressed the gathering. Dinner was attended by business captains of Uganda.

Hon'ble David Bahati Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Industry) graced the event as Chief guest. Mr. David Nahamya Secretary National Drug Authority, Mr. Peter Muhumura, Uganda Investment Authority, Mr. Francis Kisirinya, Director Private Sector Foundation Uganda and Indian businesss houses attended the meet.During the interactive session, Indian business houses raised their issues and Hon. Minister assured to personally look into them.
