Happy Easter to you all!
We're in the final Liberation Phase of removing dictatorship from Uganda and restore the true Spirit of One Uganda, One People. Are you?
We're ready to continue our fight for One Uganda, One People. The FDC is committed to offer Ugandans a brand of political and public service leadership that is trans formative, selfless, and patriotic. We are committed to pursue policies that make
growth more inclusive, create new, decent and well-paying jobs, dramatically improve the quality of public service delivery and strengthen
citizenship.

Happy Easter to you all!

FDC wishes you a blessed Easter, a season of hope and renewal, inspiring us to stand for justice and work together for a better Uganda.
FDC Easter message.
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) joins fellow countrymen and women in Uganda and world over in celebrating the reflection on the resurrection of Jesus Christ—a triumph of hope, truth, and justice over suffering and oppression.
His victory reminds us that injustice is never permanent, and that hope and renewal are always possible.
As a nation, Uganda must draw from this powerful example. We must stand firm against oppression, defend the dignity of our people, and commit to building a country where justice, freedom, and equal opportunity are rights for all.
As we mark the end of the Lenten season of fasting, let us carry forward its values of discipline, sacrifice, and compassionate beyond this period.
During this Easter season, let us share the little we have with those in need, stand together as one people, and continue to care for one another.
Let us also pray for Uganda—for justice, freedom, and liberation from dictatorship and family rule.
This Easter festivities finds us when the world is in a very bad place. There are over 50 active conflicts worldwide, with major international wars namely the Russia and Ukraine war; the Israel and Palestine war; the Israel - American - Iran war; and high intensity civil wars in Sudan, Myanmar, Syria. Other significant wars are in Yemen, Haiti, the Sahel, and Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It is shocking that in the 21st century when humanity should have tired of war to be at peace with one another we are insanely at war; causing massive casualties and instability and significantly impacting the global economy.
This Eastertide finds our country in a very bad shape. As people matter above all Easter challenges us to focus on the biggest issue facing ordinary Ugandans which is their daily survival.
Ugandans facing poverty is the biggest issue we are grappling with. Around 60-70% of the population is living below the poverty line. Poverty is especially severe in rural areas, where it affects nearly 80% of residents, but it is also rising in urban areas too. The high cost of living has left many people struggling to afford the basic needs like food, shelter, and healthcare.
Another concern is unemployment particularly among our young people who form the big chunk of our population. Economic growth has not translated into adequate formal jobs.
A large proportion of the national budget is committed to debt servicing, which limits resources available for public services and social welfare while the rest is misappropriated by a few ruling elite class. This has affected everyday life, especially for poorer communities.
Easter challenges us too to focus on the issue of governance in our country which is in a very bad shape.
Contrary to the election promises of expanding the democratic space, freedom of speech has been severely restricted by the government. Opposition parties have been neutralised and weakened by the direct interference of the administration in there internal polity.
Ugandans see politically the current administration as dictatorial and not embracing of its citizens. It has disdained nation building by making many Ugandans feel excluded. The ethnic background of people has been deliberately highlighted against the motto of For God and My Country.
The administration has become increasingly authoritarian and hostile in passing oppressive laws which include constitutional amendments passed illegally and against the ruling of the Constitutional Court as well as the objections of the majority of Ugandans a classic example is the proposed legislation on the Protection of Sovereignty bill 2026 which intends to limit political party and NGO funding.
The truth remains the real opposition in Uganda is not the political parties but the Ugandan people to whom power belongs. And no legal dribbling, institutional pressure, or political intimidation can suppress the will of the people.
May this season renew our strength and resolve to fix our nation and restore hope to our people.
Wishing you a joyful and blessed Easter.

Today, the FDC Makerere University Chapter held a meeting with party leadership at our Headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
The meeting chaired by the Chairperson Youth League Mr. Adepo Francis aimed at presenting the proposed candidate for the forthcoming Guild elections.
At the appropriate time, and after thorough due diligence, the FDC will announce the candidate it trusts to defend students’ rights, and lead the Makerere Guild with courage and integrity.

We salute the courage and resilience of women who continue to hold families, communities, and the economy together despite the current difficult conditions in Uganda.
Women deserve more than praise today. They deserve equal opportunity, economic empowerment, safety, and a meaningful voice in leadership and decision-making in our country.
Happy Women's day
Any serious leader who genuinely cares about his people would have used taxpayers’ money to build a modern, well-planned market along the Nakivubo drainage channel and give hawkers a decent place to work.
But of course, that would make too much sense.
Instead, the space was handed over to a private investor, and hawkers are now being pushed out of the city to Usafi, Busega, and Luzira where they can hardly make any sales.

No one in Uganda is truly safe, not even the Church.
Until we come together and stand united against dictatorship.

Chasing hawkers off Kampala’s streets won’t fix the economy.
These are young people, single mothers, and unemployed graduates trying to earn a living in a tough economy. When they are chased away without a clear alternative, the problem is not solved.
Let us create designated vending zones within CBD, and construct affordable and accessible market spaces near high-traffic areas.
