Yesterday the Makerere University School of Women and Gender Studies was privileged to launch the Pan African network for Feminist, Gender and Women Studies scholars on the African continent. This is intended to provide a dedicated space/platform for African gender scholars to inspire, share, learn and energise each other. A resolution from the February International Conference on Gender Studies in Africa, it was great to have 157 participants sign up and 60 actually attend. We were privileged to have Prof. Amina Mama give key remarks at the launch and to have members make wonderful suggestions for the network's structure and next steps. We are looking forward to connecting with other networks, particularly from the global South. Makerere University
