Teso Affairs

Hon. Minister of State for Teso Affairs commissioned construction of a girl's dormitory block (100) beds at Kakure Seed SS on 7th August, 2024 at the school campus. The project is PTA sponsored and is expected to cost UGX 260m. The project is implemented under of the girl child education

Teso Affairs supported the construction of a 2 classroom block and a 5 stance drainable pit latrine at Kachonga Primary School, Bukedea District in financial year 2023/2024. Physical progress is over 90% and the works are expected to be completed by the end of August 2024. On completion, the classroom block is expected to contribute towards the improved learning conditions of the school as well as hygiene of the girl child.

In financial year 2021/2022 the Ministry of Teso Affairs supported Kachanga Etijioto Ican Women's Group in Bukedea District with UGX 7,000,000 for micro projects support. The ground bought 15 cattle and today they have multiplied to 47

The Ministry of Teso Affairs supported 12 District Local Governments, Soroti City and Kumi Municipality with UGX 60,000,0000 to each of the Local Governments in Teso in financial year 2023/2024. The Hon Minister of State for Affairs has today 31st July, 2024 handed over a dummy cheque worth UGX 60,000,000 to 12 micro projects groups in Bukedea District.

Kalaki District celebrated the belated International Women's Day on 28th March, 2024. During the function we celebrated the works of the mothers and all women in the social transformation of the country. I also commissioned the rehabilitation of boreholes in Teso using borehole stainless steel pipes and rods procured by the Ministry of Teso Affairs

The Ministry of Teso Affairs funded the construction of a 2 classroom block with an office, two classroom block and a five stance pit latrine with an incenerator at Aloet Primary School in Soroti City. The works were of good quality and highly commendable. Commissioning was on 01/12/2023

During the release of the 2022 Local Government Assessment Results it was reported that the Districts from Teso performed worst. The Ministry of Teso Affairs organized a meeting to reflect, discuss the assessment results, identify bottlenecks and devise solutions to ensure improved and better performance during the 2023 assessment. The meeting was attended by RDCs, RCC, LC V chairpersons, City and Municipal Mayors, Chief Administrative Officers, City and Municipal Town Clerks and Planners

The Ministry of Teso Affairs procured a fully equipped Class-B ambulance and handed it over to Kachumbala HC/IV. The ambulance will ease the management of referral services at the health center, the District and Teso in general

I commissioned Amuria central market in Amuria District. The market was constructed with support from EU and UNCDF through DINU project. The project was implemented by Amuria District Local Government and supervised by the Ministry of Local Government. I thank all the stakeholders that led to the successful implementation of the project

I commissioned Wera cattle market in Amuria District. We thank our Development partners; UNCDF and EU for funding the investment, the District for implementing the project and availing the additional funds required for the successful implementation of the project. The Ministry of Local Government was also instrumental in coordinating and supervising the implementation of the projects. The market was implemented through the Development Initiative for Northern Uganda.
