UEGCL was represented at the inaugural Ai Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya Summit in Nairobi, East Africa’s largest gathering on artificial intelligence and innovation.
Our Chief ICT Officer, Albert Murungi, joined regional and global experts to discuss how Africa can build a strong, inclusive AI economy powered by clean and reliable energy.
He shared insights on how East Africa can use its renewable energy resources, including hydropower, geothermal and solar, to attract clean compute investments and support AI infrastructure. He also called for stronger regional power integration, better digital policies, and investment in local AI solutions that respond to African challenges.
His message was simple but powerful: Africa’s future in AI should not only be about hosting global data centres. It should be about building local capacity, powering local innovation, and turning clean energy into Green Intelligence.
