🚨 We wrapped up the week well at Enabel

We signed a €280,485 grant agreement with Kampala Capital City Authority to advance youth employment in Kampala metropolitan.

Implemented under the project, funded by the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium, this partnership focuses on bridging the gap between young people’s skills and labour market demands.

At least 1,000 youth will undergo work-readiness training, gaining essential soft skills to prepare for the world of work, while a minimum of 200 will transition into employment within private companies.

This is part of a broader effort to strengthen job matching, engage employers, and expand opportunities in green and decent jobs while contributing to inclusive economic growth in Kampala. 🤝

A big step towards a stronger aquaculture sector and more opportunities for youth!

We have formalised our partnership with , the largest tilapia producer in Uganda to drive improvements across the fish value chain with a focus on the Busoga region.
This collaboration isn’t just about fish. It is about people, standards and the environment. And we have already delivered tangible results:

Creating jobs: 17 young people will gain their first work experience.
Setting standards: Elevation of food safety to meet international benchmarks.
Going green: Advancement of environmentally responsible production practices.

Part of the Initiative on Sustainable Business for Uganda, this partnership shows how working with a leading private sector player can unlock jobs, improve standards, and build a more sustainable and competitive aquaculture industry.
