Flood Watch until October 11 at 2pm.

Rain showers moved into our area overnight and will continue until Sunday. The forecasted rainfall totals have slightly increased to 3-4 inches with gusty winds are expected throughout the day. We are continuously monitoring Hurricane Isaias and the potential for impacts to our area. We understand there are varying forecasts circulating regarding the potential rainfall amounts associated with the approaching weather system.

We work closely with our partners at the National Weather Service (NWS) and the South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD), which serves as our primary source for official weather forecasts and decision-making guidance. At this time, the NWS is forecasting approximately 2–3 inches of rainfall for our area. While we rely on the expertise and guidance of our trusted partners, we also recognize that weather conditions can change and that actual impacts may differ from initial forecasts.

Regardless of the impacts, our responsibility remains the same, be prepared. We encourage residents to remain weather-aware, follow updates from trusted sources, and take reasonable precautions as this system approaches.

10/09/2026

Confidence is growing that our area may see some impacts from Hurricane Isaias this weekend. Bands of heavy rain are forecasted to begin Saturday morning and last into Sunday, with up to 2-3 inches predicted. Gusty winds will also begin Saturday morning with 15-25 mph sustained and gusts potentially up to 35mph. These winds could result in isolated power outages from falling trees. With this storm comes a low-end threat of severe weather, including tornadoes Saturday into Saturday night. Please monitor trusted media outlets for weather updates and have ways to receive warnings.

Is your source for weather information reliable?
The National Weather Service reports that in South Carolina, potential impacts from Tropical Storm Isaias include heavy rainfall and localized flooding, which could begin as early as late Friday and continue through the weekend.
Keep in mind that social media can be flooded with rumors, speculation and inaccurate forecasts. For information you can trust, turn to the National Weather Service and other reliable local and national sources.

❤️HONORED FOR EXCELLENCE IN CARDIAC CARE❤️

Abbeville County EMS is proud to share that our agency has been officially recognized with the Partners in Cardiac Care distinction by the American College of Cardiology, in partnership with Self Regional Healthcare!

When someone experiences a cardiac emergency, every single second counts. This award reflects our field crews' hard work in rapidly diagnosing heart attacks (STEMIs), transmitting ECGs from the field, and activating cardiac cath lab teams before even stepping foot in the hospital.

This achievement isn't just about our Paramedics and EMTs on the ambulance—it is built on the strong foundation of our entire emergency response system:

Our 911 Telecommunicators: The vital first link who dispatch help instantly, gather key details, and guide callers through those crucial first moments.
Our Local First Responders & Firefighters: Arriving fast on scene to initiate care, clear pathways, and provide essential hands-on support to our crews.
Our Hospital Partners: Working hand-in-hand with us at Self Regional Healthcare to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Thank you to our dedicated dispatchers, volunteer and career first responders, and field clinicians for your relentless commitment to excellence. Most of all, thank you to our community for trusting us when you need us most! 🚑
