***GH Drug Task Force Search Warrant and Arrest***

Today, the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force (GHDTF), with the assistance of the Westport Police Department and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office, served a Search Warrant in the 600 block of Ocean Ave within the City of Westport, after a 3-month long investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics from the location. During the investigation GHDTF detectives conducted multiple controlled buys of co***ne from the suspect.

The suspect, a 50-year-old Westport man, who lives at the location, was arrested, and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a fi***rm.

During the service of the Search Warrant detectives located approximately 5 ounces of co***ne, multiple pounds of ma*****na, and two fi***rms that the suspect was prohibited from possessing due to a prior felony conviction. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer.

This is just another example of the great work our Grays Harbor Drug Task Force detectives conduct on a daily basis to remove illegal drugs off our streets and hold those accountable who poison our community. The Drug Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Aberdeen Police Department, the Hoquiam Police Department, and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office.

FRAUD PHONE CALLS ALERT!!!!!

Several members of our community have received phone calls in the last week from a restricted or unknown number. The caller has been instructing the person to go to the bank and take out some money because they have warrants or fines that need to be cleared up. They will then instruct the victim to go somewhere to deposit the funds and send via bitcoin or similar method. Aberdeen PD and the Aberdeen Municipal Court will never call you to take out cash to pay for fines or warrants. If you get that call, hang up immediately and block the number if there was one listed. Do not give them any information and do not confirm any information they may have. If they call back, tell them you have reported it to the police and hang up. You can call the Aberdeen Police Department at 360-533-3180 to verify any activity you are concerned about.
