New Future Fund grantee! Hunter is doing such cool things with Day 1 Bags.
Grantee Spotlight: Day 1 Bags
"We make sure each child or young adult is treated with dignity and respect." - Hunter Beaton, who founded the organization when he was just 16 years old!
This $4,500 grant was from this year's Future Fund grant cycle, supporting the Day 1 Bags program to provide bags with essential needs, books, and encouraging items to youth in foster care. Day 1 Bags envisions a future where no child has to pack their belongings in a trash bag.
More from Hunter and what's in the bags, in this blog post:

We had the MOST fun celebrating Future Fund members and Friends of the Community Foundation at the Abilene Zoo last night!
Thank you to all of our members who make grants to children and youth possible each year.
And thank you to the Abilene Zoo, Reed Beverage - Abilene, and H-E-B for making the event so special!

You can even involve your own kids in the grantmaking decisions! We love seeing multiple generations working together on their own special charitable giving plan. 👇

The Alexander Families Giving Fund is a beautiful example of how multiple generations of family members can impact the charitable causes they care about, together.

We are so excited for another Open Road concert series benefiting Future Fund!
We are READY. The 2022 series kicks of next Thursday with The Texas Gentlemen!

What an honor to be the beneficiary of this concert series! Future Fund grants support nonprofits serving local children and youth, and we have the same standards when making grants using Open Road proceeds.
This will be such a positive benefit for families while their newborns are in the NICU.
