🚫 NO PARKING NOTICE 🚫

Please be advised that there will be NO PARKING and NO STOPPING on the northbound side of Main Street from the Acushnet Town Hall to just past Lake Street until further notice.

There will be select portions of Main Street which will have NO PARKING and NO STOPPING on both the northbound and southbound sides.

This restriction is in place to ensure public safety and allow for proper traffic flow in the area. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

📍 Affected Area: Main Street (from Town Hall to past Lake Street)
🚗 Parking Restriction: No Parking, Effective Immediately

🎒🚌 TOMORROW’S THE BIG DAY!!!
BACK TO SCHOOL — ACUSHNET! 🚌🎒

Tomorrow begins a new school year for the Acushnet Public Schools. The Acushnet Police Department would like to wish all students, parents, teachers, and staff of Acushnet Public Schools a safe and successful school year!

As students head back to the classroom, please remember that school is back in session, and our roads will be busier than usual. Give yourself extra time, slow down, and watch carefully for children walking, biking, and getting on and off school buses.

🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY — KNOW THE RULES

🚨 STOP for a school bus when the red lights are flashing and the stop sign is extended. This applies to traffic approaching from both directions on a road where the bus is stopped.

❌ Never pass a stopped school bus. A few seconds saved are never worth putting a child’s life at risk.

👀 Watch for children near bus stops. Children may cross the road unexpectedly or move quickly into traffic.

📵 Stay focused. Put the phone down and eliminate distractions, especially in school zones and around buses.

🐢 Slow down and be patient. School buses make frequent stops, and students may be entering or exiting the roadway.

Remember: The flashing red lights mean STOP — not “slow down and pass.”

**********CRUISE NIGHT ROAD CLOSURE********

CRUISE NIGHT - THURSDAY 08/27/2026

Main St. will be closed from So. Main St. to Wing Rd. between the hours of 4:00pm and 8pm.

Traffic heading north from So. Main St/Main St will be detoured down to Crompton Street. At the end of Crompton Street traffic will turn right onto Allen Street then proceed up Allen Street to Main Street.

Traffic travelling south from Main St. will be detoured down Allen Street. Traffic will continue down Allen Street then turn left onto Boylston Street, which will lead you to Main St. where you can turn right ONLY.

In short, Crompton Street will become a one way north and Boylston St will become a one way south. Please be patient and expect delays, seek alternate route if at all possible.

The 4th Annual Acushnet Guns N’ Hoses Softball Game is coming up, and you don’t want to miss it!

Come out and support the Acushnet Police & Acushnet Fire Fighters Association as we battle it out on the softball field.

Friday August 21 @ 7pm being played at the one and only Pope Park

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY 🚧

Please be advised that paving operations on Slocum St. will begin tomorrow.

Motorists should expect major traffic delays throughout town for most of the day.

Please allow extra time for travel. Seek alternate routes when possible, and use caution around construction crews and equipment.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while this important road work is completed.
